So there is no paperwork or box for the Blackhawk, it's a 6 shot, and has the CCG stamped on the barrel. Beautiful gun. If you’ve got the serial number you can look it up on Ruger’s website. If the gun started as a .357 it’s worth over $2k as it’s had a caliber conversion done, probably a custom barrel too.

Any markings to signify it is a Clements gun? Does the front sight base allow the use of different style blades? Six shot or five? Custom base pin? (scratch that, you already mentioned it's custom) Aftermarket grips, or custom? It sounds like a very good deal. It could be a VERY GOOD DEAL. A 5 shot .41 magnum would be a rare bird indeed….

Lacking lots of details that could determine price/worth more accurately but sounds like a great deal.

I owned that flat top convertible for quite a while. Had to wait for Taffin to get done testing it before it was delivered.
That article is old and has cost me mucho dinero….
Just a note…..I’m pretty sure Hamilton didn’t write the article.

I’m interested in it just cause it’s an old one. I have a new one and all the case holders to go with it.
Send me a PM……

We learned something everyday. I did not know that Bowen would not remove the legal stuff. I probably have not talked to as many as you guys but It is clear some of them have do's and don'ts that others do not. It’s taken years and the story does change sometimes…..

Greg, the boys have been earning these bears so far, wind, rain, snow, rattlesnakes & one mean, nasty Forest Grouse hen with a bad attitude!!! Dick Funny how a mad bird will make a full grown man squeal (me).

REALLY NICE LOOKING GUN, TOO BAD THEY DID NOT CLEAN UP THE BARREL AND DELETE ALL THE RUGER WRITING. I find it very hard to believe that between Bowen and Turnbull that one or both did not advise the customer to get rid of the lettering. In my conversations with any of the gunsmiths that I've talked to they make no bones about telling you what you should be doing, what you shouldn't be doing and what they don't like to do. So at that point it makes me think that was customer driven. Well, it’s a Clements build…. Bowen will not remove the markings unless it is disturbed by shortening the barrel. Have to get a custom barrel in Bowen’s shop. That being said, David would remove the markings and I totally agree that it should have been done. If it weren’t for the Turnbull blue a guy could still have it done but sending it back for the bluing makes it somewhat cost prohibitive (whatever that is…)
