Guess I’m becoming what I would call an anti public servant kind of guy as I get older and grumpier. Having spent my entire life working in the private sector to provide services and meet the needs of clients in a free market world, o have become jaded to the value of many government employees and their policies.

Happy birthday Robb, I’ve got a present headed your way. We were able to find a suitable assisted living property for Mom, so maybe I can stop being a caregiver and regress to being a son again, time will tell. Trapr

Loaded my ranch truck, 85 Toyota onto my trailer for returning to my house for some maintenance and repair work. It resides about 3.5 hours south of my home, on a ranch I work and get to hunt on. I will drive another 2 hours south tomorrow to join my good friend 45man for a few days of chasing pigs and coyotes, maybe get him a Nilgai if he chooses. Ill pick up the truck on my return home on Wednesday.

Not my planned Saturday………had a neighbor knock on the door this morning to say we had a water leak on the side of the house. Our home filtration system had cracked a filter cover, the water didn’t seem to have been running all night as the water was not running to the street yet. But it was bad enough. Shut water off and removed cover and discovered it had a 5 year warranty so a quick trip to Tractor Supply had a new cover free of charge in hand. Now the hard part started,…..wife and I had been meaning to install a pressure reducing valve since we seem to have high pressure to the house and our water supplier is constantly shutting off and on water supply. In my years as a FF, water hammer on fittings and pipe is a serious issue when mains are opened suddenly and pressure spikes. So the PRV install has not gone as easy as planned, I’m on my second trip to a hardware store for replacement fittings after cross threading one after assembly ing and gluing everything together for the first one. Testing it and blowing past a fitting that had sat too long with glue on it before assembling. Hopefully all goes well on the second attempt, and I can chill with a cold alcoholic beverage for the late afternoon.

Put a Matchdot on my Clements built .480 Ruger today with a little help from Shootist1894. Never had optics on my revolvers before but I think it makes them a purpose driven tool

Took the mechanical governor out of the 212 Tillotson so it'll spin up to 5,500 RPM and put a Mikuni on it. Hoo boy what a difference. I'm building a 10/22 based thing with a Volquartsen barrel. Good choice right? The extractor cut should be at ninety degrees to the bottom locking cut. With the barrel properly installed the extractor cut is it about 85° so the bolt won't close. It appears all companies have not great days.

When I get up first, which happens more often now that not working 2nd shift, I try and make coffee. Wife/we have a dual carafe/single chunk of over priced plastic foofy thing she bought. I HATE IT ! Too many steps to remember and think about when I'm not wake enough to remember and think about things, before my coffee ! Grrr ! Think I'm gonna dig out an old coffee maker from the basement, and just make my own coffee in the basement. Just wasted an hour of my life cleaning up the maker, the stand, the counter, etc.. Think some little black plastic part was not quite in the right place in another black plastic part. It's all black on black, more grrr ! I've dreamt of shooting it. It would not be the first gadget, widget, appliance that has perished by gun fire here.
