Along the theme of our other two “what did you” topics. Since today I will be working on my Redhawk 41, following Mr. Bradshaw’s diagrams and description of tuning a Redhawk trigger. The gun is accurate but the trigger is heavy and has a bit of creep or take up, so I will endeavor to improve the current 7+ pound release weight.

Worked on shimming the sons new safe so
no chance of it tipping forward then shuttled all the gun cases, archery cases and ammo cases from our little rv over to his new place do everything could be reassembled and arranged in the safe.
I was just waiting for his reaction to how fast a “64” gun safe can fill up with scoped rifles, long barrel shotguns etc. He did not let me down !🤣
Still feels nice to turn all his families guns back over to him even if over half used to live in my safe!

The .redhawk went well, although I had to fabricate a plunger for the hand, as the factory one was sent whizzing past my eyebrow and landed noiselessly in my shop. I’ll order a new one and replace it correctly when it arrives. The trigger break feels much better and is less than 4#, as much as I’m willing to go. A clean break, no perceived take up, much improved.

Swapped an RMR and the 3D printed direct mount over to an 8 inch Bullberry 45-70 Contender barrel Installed the Pro lifter on the Beretta 1301 Comp   I am fully aware of how dumb the Contender barrel is 😂 |

worked on two walnut K frame sets, a walnut GP100 set, a mesquite burl N frame set, a walnut set for a RW 1860 frame, a walnut set for my security six, and did some metal work on my security six as well. was a busy and hot day.

WORKED ON ADDING 2 SAVAGE 1899's TO A GUN LIST TO PRESENT TO A GUN ACCUMULATOR, A 1913 22 SAVAGE HIGH POWER AND A 1916 250-3000 SAVAGE "PERCH BELLY".

A gathering o'the Clan, a camp meeting today. This to plan out the remainder of the work, materials left, needed to finish the new camp building. The original old farm house is on its last legs. The new building was started years ago with a shift needed foreseen. It progressed to a point where it was half enclosed and half pavilion. With usage going up, more kids/grand kids, more enclosed clean sleeping areas now needed, so a push to finish while the current senior members can still do some physical work. On the way home from meeting, a stop at a younger friends for some help with my retirement paperwork. Monday a meet with guy for help with S.S. and Medicare and such. Busy stressful patch of life right now. Am hopeful that new Med system in place, and new income streams will be all dialed in before you know what season. I consider all this WORK. LOL. Life, a hurdle to jump.

I needed some projects while recovering from prostate surgery. Installed a Holosun sight with the green chevron on a Ruger 41 Mag, a Burris 2x scope on a BFR 454, and a neat front sight from Fermin on a Bisley Single Six. I’ll go shoot them when I get rid of these tubes. imgur.com/a/LTyrfgv |

Soaking old dried out leather holsters in Neatsfoot Oil. These haven't been oiled since the '80s. They are cracker dry and if you try to flex them the leather tears. One good thing about Texas heat and sun is I can wipe them down about once every two hours so work goes quickly. These were bought at an estate sale and are from the now closed San Antonio Leather Company.

Working on an older Colt 4X carry handle scope. It came to me with all the adjustment knobs and eye focus rings frozen. I'm dribbling Kroil on the parts that should move 1-2 times a day so we'll see what happens.
