Man it would take me about 3 minutes 19 seconds to break off those cool mini bike parts the way they stick out. In fact, after seeing the picture of the new side by side laying horizontal, I wonder how long they will last with Squawberry and his cape piloting it!🤣

When I get up first, which happens more often now that not working 2nd shift, I try and make coffee. Wife/we have a dual carafe/single chunk of over priced plastic foofy thing she bought. I HATE IT ! Too many steps to remember and think about when I'm not wake enough to remember and think about things, before my coffee ! Grrr ! Think I'm gonna dig out an old coffee maker from the basement, and just make my own coffee in the basement. Just wasted an hour of my life cleaning up the maker, the stand, the counter, etc.. Think some little black plastic part was not quite in the right place in another black plastic part. It's all black on black, more grrr ! I've dreamt of shooting it. It would not be the first gadget, widget, appliance that has perished by gun fire here. I agree, the wife likes Kuerig maker and little coffee pods. I can’t stand them, put they do not make enough coffee for my cup so I’ve got to make two.if parts aren’t reassembled exactly as needed the pot won’t run, but won’t tell you what the issue is. I’d decided to use my French press I carry for camping trips. When she decided maybe a new coffee maker would be a bad idea, now I have a maker I chose. Trapr

Last weekend I installed the VQ accurizing kit in the MKIV Standard frame. This morning I installed one in the Lite frame and adjusted the pre and post-travel in both. The Lite install was much easier than the Standard frame, mainly due to the Lite frame being wider internally. Hoping to do range testing tomorrow.

Both my MK ll guns went away last week to finish paying off a hunt. The suppressed one is actually still here until the buyers Form 4 is accepted and approved.

Worked on my Father's Monarch 10EE lathe for the last two days. It was running some years ago. He was running it at a very low RPM and he said it just quit. Years go by and I had to get a new 800.00 fuse panel to replace the old one that purely BURNED. Not just the fuses blew, but the panel itself was toast. Monarch said no repair and sold me one off an old machine. Now to find the CAUSE of it all. The motor spins free but the brushes smell burned. I suspect either a brush got stuck and dumped voltage all at once or some other issue occurred with the wiring inside. Sometime soon I will pull the gear box off, unbolt the motor and use an engine hoist to pull it out. I am sure it doesn't really weigh 500 pounds, but being less than 6 inches clearance on all sides to work it might as well. It is a 5 horse DC motor roughly 30 inches long and around 14 inches across, and it is ALL copper baby! Back in the day when they really wound motors in heavy copper.

Most of you guys understand when I say that sometimes life gets in the way of life. This job is a perfect example of that saying. About 10 years ago I tore off the original cedar deck and replaced it with a new and slightly larger composite deck. Knowing material like Trex does not have the structural strength of wood I framed it with the stringers 1' on center just so there would not be any "bounce" in the material when it was walked on. At that time I was also still running the second truck in our pumping business nearly every day so the project was all added work while trying to keep a business going. As such I got everything framed and the decking down and railings build but I only screwed the deck down on every third joist just to let me stay on the truck. Fast forward 10 years and when the oldest son called and asked if his mom could fly down to NM for another 2 week stint of child care I decided to leave the wood stuff alone and wrap up the deck. Basically is meant taking off the temporary step riser face and replacing it with the Trex fascia and installing the other 2/3s of the screws. Since the deck is right out the main slider I needed to make sure that the screw all lined up so out comes the string line and the screw placement jig and the fun begins. Since Trex is a slick and relatively hard surface and I wanted the screws to be in a line it becomes a two step process. First you stretch the string right over the middle of the joist then stretch the string from end to end then take an 18" drill bit in a drill and using the spacing jig you just break the surface of the board to give a good starting point for your screw. Get all the predrill spots done then you remove the string and go back over and install the screws. Simple but tedious and tough on replaced knees and hips. Each board gets 102 screws so that means the 900+ we put in so far this week only leaves another 500+ to go plus the new fascia! Anyone want to come have fun in Oregon?

I put my CZ457 in a Boyd's AT-One stock to improve the terrible fit of the stock varmint wood. I'm tall and long armed so this stock should be able to fit me better. A good fitting stock is critical in 22rf BR match shooting.

Worked on getting mom moved out of independent living and into assisted living. Less furniture to the new place so movers get less to deal with but I’ve got to take it home and store it until final decisions are made on what and where. Boxing up curios and sentiments wrapping them for travel and or storage is a PIA. Then unboxing and displaying, pictures, little furniture etc. hopefully this weekend is a get some of my stuff done weekend,……oh yeah and the wife ran her new Subaru into a parked truck.

I’ve had to make those moves with family members several times and don’t let anyone tell you that progressive downsizing of other family members things is not work and often painful. Makes crunching a car seem like the easiest thing to deal with in a day.

I just got an email from the hired movers saying they’ve rescheduled our move to 3 hours later in the day than originally agreed to. Considering they sent me a confirmation this morning saying all was well and 1-3pm was a go, this last email is aggravating. I’ve replied “no this is unsatisfactory” we will see how things develop.

The movers sent me an email the next morning saying my move was again rescheduled this time to 11a-1p, which was fine. At 115p, no movers? Called and was told despite my email showing 11a-1p, my move was scheduled for 1p-3p, my original time. They finally showed up at 245p, and despite the company logistics the actual workers were excellent, the move was completed in an hour less time than anticipated and everything went smooth. A generous tip was given for their work, and a harsh review was left for the company management lackeys. That’s what I did yesterday and arrived home this morning at 1am. Trapr

Yeah, seems I'm developing an attitude with age, so I'm told. Not sure they are right, do think I'm entitled to it if they are. I've paid all my own bills and worked 40hrs or more for too many years. But today, so far, just got done cleaning the 2 rifles and 3 handguns the great niece helped me get dirty during her week here recently. Am still smiling. To meet oldest friends for a fish fry out later. The hot/humid patch should ease in a day or so. Grass can wait until then. Watching long range forecasts to see when I can put the razor/shaver away and go into beard growth mode for the winter. The uncle Cy look my goal.
