...continues....
Have never seen such prices for Marlin lever guns before especially the short barreled guns....way way over a grand.
Guess people are figuring that once Ruger starts production things won't be as they were....

I am extremely excited to see what the Ruger / Marlin team produces.
Until then, I'll stick with my JMs.

I don't have to worry about current prices,,,,, cuz I'm not seeing ANY of them for sale . Marlin or Remlin . There are a lot of them for sale around me. For some reason anything lever action has really spiked in price especially the 45-70's. Winchester 94's in 30-30 for $700! I don't think so. I think I sold my 45-70 Guide Gun and my 44 mag Marlins 10 years ago for around $400-450 each. When I was a kid I couldn't wait to get rid of my Marlin 336 and get a "Real" rifle. I stepped up to a Rem. 700 in 25-06 and never really had a big desire for lever guns since then even though I have had a few.

I have a Remlin 30-30 that I carry around because I hate that rifle. I figure I can use it for nasty farm jobs I wont put my other good Marlins through. Factory sight settings had it hitting 18 inches high and 18 inches left at 50 yards. Couldn't drift the rear sight over enough to get centered without the rear sight falling out of its slot. When it did stay in the slot, the rifle shot 5 1/2 inches high at 50 yards with the elevator completely removed. That would be great if I wanted a rifle zeroed at 300 yards. I put a red dot on it and got it sorta sighted in. 4 inch groups at 100 yards with even handloads. I just wont sell a crap rifle to someone else without telling them.

Me and my father were just talking about how Marlins have jumped in price. We both agreed that we probably won't buy another lever gun until we see what Ruger is going to release. Ruger posted that we should start seeing their lever guns on the shelves in the second half of 2021.

Justin, I pray to God Ruger is correct on their dates. I want a 454 Casull or a 480 Ruger or a 500 Smith b.a.d.l.y.! LOL!

Uhmmm you most emphatically do not want a marlin in 500 s&w. When I tested a marlin I to rebarreled to 500 it failed very quickly. I kept shooting it as a single shot until the locking bolt was so deformed it would not function. That took 64 rounds by the way. It also would not feed from the magazine.

Well, I shall learn from the experienced. It was just a dream really. I have a H&R 500 Smith and Wesson single shot rifle. If you want to feel a little "thump", well... its got it.

If Ruger decides to build a 50cal. lever action, I'm pretty confident it will be plenty strong.

Small frame Marlin 500 lever guns are unicorns.

I don't know anyone who would make one.

And if you found someone who could, the wait would be unbearable and the price would be unspeakable.
