Here's a small sample of my Coleman gear, I have a lot of it including a 2 man packbacking tent, another lantern, 2 Coleman sleeping bags, some lawn chairs, a stove that is many, many years old & this old single burner stove. Much of this gear has many hundreds of miles being carried in pack bags on the horses & mules but we never had any problems with any of it other than a broken mantle once in a while. Even then those mantles would make it to camp many times after many miles on a pack trail. Almost forgot, also have some Coleman coolers! Dick

Is the 200A the little red one. I have a single burner red like new in a hard case. I’ll have to go see what all I still have. Ha. Yeah, the little single mantle. Most were red, but there were yellow and greens ones too. Some of the old 200s had nickel plated founts and some had green founts and red vents. Let me know if you need to find one a new home.

It's great to see the gear that helped make memories of your adventures! What are the dates on your lanterns?

Don't know, I've had them forever, some of this stuff since the 60's. I always though Coleman gear was made in Cedar City, Utah. When I was in the Air Force in the late 60's we were fishing at Lake Texhoma & my buddy Don Manning from Ohio saw a Coleman lantern sicking out of the mud, he took it home & cleaned it up & got it working. Looked like it had been there for a long time, still had pressure in the tank when he twisted the cap off.

AFAIK, all US made Coleman stuff came from Kansas, but there was a Canadian division for the great white North. The fishing story is great! Bet that was a cleanup job... The 228F I recently bought had old fuel in it from who knows when. It got a few drops of oil on the pump leather washer and fired right up. Of course, I refilled with fresh fuel after that first burn.

Wow, that one is cool! Trying to look it up. What model is it? Can tell you were (are) really into Coleman lights.

I swear I have like a mustard colored one in a 200. I’ll have to look when I’m at storage place again. I went on a tear finding them for a few years. Craigslist, yard sales etc. love them and reminded me of growing up camping. Have a big nice tent for camping with kiddo but then bought a bigger tent that I pull with the truck so none of them get used anymore

Zeus, you just need to pull the old lanterns out and light them every now and then. It's cool that you collected them. If you still have it, the Gold Bond 200a would be a real keeper! Yesterday we visited the in-laws and took the lanterns my FIL gave me (and the others) to show them. He was excited about what had become of them. We went out to the shed to look for an old stove he remembered having but couldn't locate it. We did find this old 228B lantern hanging lonely in a back corner! It has a nickle plated brass fount and dates between the mid 1930s and 1942. Very cool! I am evaluating it with an eye toward a full restoration. Marking on original globe. Fount markings

Outstanding. Love seeing these old lights. I knew you guys were likely to have some cool Coleman stuff.

vmaxsplat, congrats on finding the 228b. I rebuilt a 1936 228b last fall. It turned out nice. I will have to figure out how to post pictures of it. Are most of you using Imgur for your picture host? I also have my Grandfather's 1971 220F lantern and a lot more stoves than the wife thinks I should have. But like you said they are fun to tinker with.

Was it a family lantern or how did you run across it? Two things that concern me on the restoration of mine are the integrity of the fount and availability of a replacement vent. I think the fount is sound, but have not had a chance to really look it over. It will likely get a boroscope inspection soon. I can use the original vent while scouring the web for a mint replacement. I host pics at my Smugmug account and would be glad to host/post your lantern pics if it would help. Shoot me a PM if you need me.
