I've only fired about 40.
It belonged to the owner of a convenience store who bought it new in the 70's. Spent most its life on a shelf under the cash register. Inside had very little wear. I am guessing it hasnt had many at all.

After a day of chasing zeros on some odd and old rifles, I ended the day shooting the 401 Powermag and the Ruger 44 Special. The rifles were an assortment of odd ducks, a W.R. Pape 256 Mannlicher (Steyr 1893), a Winchester 64 30-30, Husvarna 46 in 9.3x57, a Mauser 98 in 10.75x57 and worked up a load for a friend's AR15 in 300 OSSM.

Took loosey goosey (from now I will refer to this revolver as 'Lucy') for a spin yesterday. I was testing Federal's 250 grain Barnes loads. The top five-shot group was shot at 25 yards, the bottom one at 50. Lucy never fails to impress. As I said before, Lucy locks up as tight as a 30 year old screen door with a busted hinge in Hurricane Alley.....

At least yours has done some serious ammo testing.

Doc, it was loose from the start. It's just looser now. How does yours shoot?

It is my first 454. It is new and I have not shot it. If it shoots as well as yours. I will be pleased but I'm not holding my breath. I will let you know how things work out but it will be sometime before that happens.

Well..... havent had time to shoot either of my FA's yet but stopped by a friends on the way to work. Thumbed of five rounds out of his 475L and it darn near killed me. Have what I guess is a permanaent injury in my right wrist and arm. Thought perhaps maybe I was good again as it hasnt bothered me for quite awhile.... I was wrong. Shot well but my wriat and arm feel like someone slammed them in a car door.... repeatedly. Bad thing is I have a brand new 475L FA and 1000 rds of brass....

Craig Sorry to hear that! I reckon you'll have to keep things on the lighter side with the new FA. Or get that old "war wound" (as my dad calls them) repaired... Hope you heal up quickly and get chance to try out your babies Best BigBore44

The LCP and I versus the MOLES! One down and two or three to go! Hey Robb - did you use a good hard cast on it for good penetration? Love it!

Jacketed HP. We have VERY tough snd nasty moles here so I take no chances. High quality self defense rounds only. I am setting here watching the next mole run I tramped down in hopes of getting mole #2!

I guess a guy who lives in Indiana doesnt really need a 475L. But Ut if I want the real big bores theyll just have to be shoulder fired Craig
