rained most of the day so no shooting here. Shot .22 CB caps in two pistols and two rifles for a couple of hours yesterday though.

Finally got some decent Idaho weather so it was fun at the range getting to shoot of my Barrant/Sixshsot Sling at longer distance. Today it was 50 yds at plate racks but I found out quickly that it was boring, still too close. This new Sling that Mike makes is great but I couldn't move any farther back, the city was hauling gravel out of a pit behind me making it impossible to move my chair across the roadway.
I first ran the plate rack with my OM 41 shorty then put it down & ran it again with my 4" 45 Mountain Gun. This last gun I was using the old Keith #452423 Auto Rim 250 gr slug over 8.7 grs HS6 in 45 ACP brass in my moon clipped 45 Colt MG. This is a powerful load & the plates were going down so fast I could hardly see them go. Need to shoot these 6" plates at 100 yds to really give this Sling a proper test.








Here is my 45 Mountain Gun & the old Lyman Auto Rim bullet designed by Elmer Keith, it's a hammer! Also my OM 41 shorty case hardened by Bobby Tyler & Fermin Garza's dandy front sight & some excellent Barranti leather.

Hmmnnn.. there are a couple of very short legged folding seats in the basement. They are meant for use on a beach. Am thinking the footstool, block would not then be needed.

Also wondering, when will Doc be making leather Crocs ? That leave bear paw prints behind.. ? LOL. Sorry.

Those are Idaho insulated crocs,imported from UTAH.

Yes Sal, that's snow on that bank above the berm. I still have snow in my yard but its going fast now. Anyone notice my handy dremel work on the dreaded Hogue stocks on the MG? I hate those finger grooves but don't mind the grips other than that on the big N frame so I took my handy Foredom tool with a sanding disc & in about 2-3 minutes had some grips that fit my hand much better.
I've never yet seen a 41 magnum that didn't like 8 grs of Unique & I'm sure Bob will agree as he's as big a fan of that load as I am. I've taken several deer with it over the years including one last year using a 117 gr HP. Here's what it did to a water jug yesterday with Callshot running my cellphone video. I only have the one water jug with me, I need to take 3-4 next time.

I think in deference to it being Easter Sunday, I'll refrain from making noise, as long as others around here don't. If I hear gunfire though, it's weapons free, range is HOT !

Going bear hunting in a few days & I'll have my Croc's with me for sure BUT, not when I'm hunting! They will be back at camp, I'll have good hunting boots on when I'm up on the mountain for sure because it can get wet!

Would never mock the Crocs. I,'m currently wearing pair 4 or 5 myself, now. Socks as needed. Been wondering about the off-road or cleated Crocs, anyone here like them ?

Mixed bag again. .41 mag, 7 TCU, 20 ga shotgun, 7-30 Waters rifle & pistol, 221 Fireball XP, 22 mag, 45 ACP BlackHawk, and a bunch of .22 lr. Son and I spent about 4 hrs from 20 yds to 100. One rifle ,one shotgun[turkey season starts Sat] everything else pistol. Only ones at the range. It was a GOOD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to quit shooting 10 Contenders, Creedmore position without a blast shield, got another pair.
