Didn't shoot anything but bull today. Grand daughter got married! Family priorities trump desires every time.

Well, it was yesterday, but first up was a 1900’s Colt SAA in 45 45 Colt, rebuilt by Hamilton Bowen. Trying to find a reasonable load to shoot to POA with a really short front sight. Next up was a Ruger NM flattop in 44 Special with Power Custom Bisley hammer and Persinger ivory grips.

I LOVE that 45 Colt! On;ly two things could make it better. One is if it were a 38-40 and number two, if it lived here in Oregon! A guy has a 1st Gen 38-40 with about the same type of finish for under $1400 on the Colt Forum. I just wish I had the bucks laying around right now.

Robb, My best friend from my misspent youth lives about a half mile away and he ended up with the same gun in 38-40. I reload for him as well. He also got a first year 1892 Winchester in 32-20 from the same old feller. As light as I'm having to load for this 45, the recoil is about the same. Both are fun little guns.

Today, hit the range. Started with 100 ds of .22lr through my newly acquired Ruger MKI Target Auto made in the 60mid 60's. Use the Dot Torture target at 7 yards. Then ran a few through my G17 MOS w an RMR up top. On to the P365 with some new 12 rd mags. Wanted to shoot my Glock 41 w the Timber Wolf frame and RMR but something wasn't right. So I moved on to my custom S&W 625-3 w a Jerry Miculek 625-8 barrel. That was the first time shooting it. So smooth and fun. Tried to determine a good hunting load for my Contender barrel in 357Max but nothing was grouping well. May have been my rest or More experimenting to come. Finally back to the P365 for some single hand and weak hand practice on the Dot Torture target at 7 yds. Great day to be an American and an LSU Tiger for that matter!

Thanks - so do I! If I get time to reload some this week, I'll try to shoot it's younger older sibling and post some pictures. Tim EDIT: Here are some pictures of older Colt. It is a 1902 model in 32 WCF. It had been converted somewhere prior to 1950 to a 357 or a 38 Special. Hy Hunter, an old importer gun guy, sold it to a previous owner for the princely sum of $60, still have that receipt!. The next owner sent it to Hamilton Bowen a few years back for tune up and conversion back to a 32. Hamilton used USFA parts to make this conversion. It is a much heavier feeling gun than the old 45. Those big holes do make a difference!

Shot my wife's muzzleloader yesterday, deer hunting. Knight Wolverine at about 7# loaded and scoped and scope set for her eyes. With 90 gr of 3 fff and a 250 gr bullet that @#$%^$% drew blood on both ends. Nothing like a good rap on the beak to let you know you screwed up and got TOO DAMN CLOSE. Got the doe cut up and on ice. The nose will just have to heal itself.

Picked up a used 642-1 this evening and took it to the range. 10 yds she put all the wadcutter exactly where I was looking. These are +P 148 grain wadcutter loads.
