I shot in my 4th ever local NRA Silhouette rimfire, cowboy levergun and pistol match today. Lets not talk about the rimfire and levergun scores, but I did shoot a personal best score of 24 with my Glock 21SF. I had two 5-in-a-rows and ended up winning the overall centerfire match. Fun day on the range and immediately came home and swapped out scopes on the the 10/22 I'm using, from a leupold fixed 4X rimfire scope to a 6-24 Weaver V-series. Still need to add a Volquartsen or Kidd trigger group, but it's showing potential as it sits right now. I'm hoping better glass and a good trigger is all the rimfire needs (then it's ALL up to me). That factory hammer forged barrel is NICE! I guess I did end up posting a little about the 10/22 after all. Here's a picture of it with the new glass...

I took my 480 SBH 5 shot (6 1/2”) out again today to test two different loads again. Again it performed great! I think I also discovered my why ES numbers are so wide. The bullets are jumping crimp and it always shot number 5 and sometimes shot number 4. Today I saw it tell the truth. I shot 4 of the 5 in 5e cylinder. I stopped and checked the 5th round and sure enough it jumped out. So I shot it anyway, and saw a 30fps drop in velocity. Coincidentally I just ordered some Redding Profile crimp dies and they are on the way. I sure hope the Redding crimp improves takes care of this issue. I have learned a lot with this gun lately. I have pushed it pretty hard, I feel, with three different bullets and the findings/results are pretty cool! I plan to post my findings once I feel like I am done.
I took my “fun gun” (Bisley Vaquero in 45 colt) today also. I usually goes to the range any time I go as long as I have ammo loaded for it. I have close to 1,000rds thru this gun since I bought it in early February. I dont know how many different loads I have put thru it try different combos til I was satisfied.....well I think Im now satisfied and its great! The load I think I have settled with is 9.5gr of Power Pistol, a 255gr LEE bullet, and a federal 150 primer. The load runs around the 1040fps mark. I have also tried a 255gr HP bullet (MiHa 454-640). Unfortunately I have to buy these still as Im waiting for my mold. That bullet likes and the Vaquero 10.0gr of Power Pistol and a Remington 2 1/2 primer. That load runs right around 1080fps but shoots a smidge low. Theres another mold that should show up soon, its the MiHa 452-275 WFN. Its supposed to cast at 260gr HP. Im hoping this will be my HP bullet answer in this Vaquero as in Alabama we are required to use “mushrooming” ammunition to hunt with. I want to hunt with this Bisley Vaquero this coming hunting season. At the moment Im hitting range trash at 100yds and actually hit a bottle 3 times yesterday shooting one handed. Today I tried it right handed, one handed (my weak hand) at 50yds and hit a bottle 3/6. I was pretty proud.
My 41mag Bisley also went to the range. I took it to burn up some old loads and get my brass back so I can start working with it. Haha, one of these old loads actually showed some potential. The load was 10.5gr of Universal with a 170gr cast HP, kinda hot at 1480fps, it shot great! Ill have to duplicate that one and shoot it again.
I found shooting the 41 to feel very mild, I know its wasnt loaded heavy also, but I have been really working with 480 and some other heavy 45 colt loads a bunch.

Lefty, I received and cast some large hp’s with my new mp .452-278 wfn. Mine came in at 147gns at about a 60/40 mix of coww and pure. I haven’t shot any yet, but the large hollow point is cavernous. I think I am going to try the small hollowpoint for hunting.

Yes, it came with penta points. If you are talking about the .411 hammer, I got mine at least 3 weeks ago. I pay extra for DHL shipping. They don’t seem to get caught up in customs that way. Sorry to be the bearer of more bad news.

It costs extra, but not much. When I sign up for one on cast boolits, I always ask for it. Funny thing, when I got my .411 hammer and my 2 .359 hammers, they all came together via DHL and I didn’t pay extra. It was 3-4 days from miha to me.

I haven't shot my PPC revolver since last year and it was time to see what I could do! I was using Federal 148 gr. factory loads and not doing very well (patterns!) Then I switched to my usual handload and it started shooting great again! I guess it just doesn't like Federal Gold Medal Match! Gasp! If you need to dispose of that nasty old Fed GMM I can send you my address...

I just got a set of VZ Grips for my Springfield Armory Trophy Match and I've been having problems with the grips screw coming loose (the PC1911 too). If any of you guys have had this problem I recommend the O-Rings from Challis Grips. I install one under each grip screw and fired 100 rounds of hardball thru each gun - the screws stayed snug!

Got a few handloads down range in the Ruger No. 1 RSI 257 Roberts. Great weather and the range was empty. Right now it's shooting just a hair north of 1 MOA with 100 gr Speer HotCors and both H4350 and H4831, and I'm pleased. A little tinkering and we'll see what happens. Then I headed down the road to the Farmington River and caught this... All in all...a pretty good day to take off from work. I was having such a good streak I bought a Powerball ticket just to see if I could keep the ball rolling.
