Old 500 Linebaugh brass that splits way down is a great target from thirty feet. Makes a neat sound whizzing off

I'm not much of a double action guy, but for some reason decided a S&W 1917 might be fun. ....turns out it's lots of fun- Can't wait to start working up loads. Cholla

I got out sunday for some fun and some testing. Tested some Bisley Vaquero loads that proved to be great. Just have to have a taller front installed somehow. Shot my 480 SBH some more and it seems that handful of a gun doesnt want to shoot well until you get it up to 1050fps and shoots better when you reach 1100fps. Ive been playing with the 357 Carbine cast boolit a good bit in a new to me (built in 1985) 357 Bisley Blackhawk. Its a 170gr HP GC running around 1330-ish fps. We stepped back to 150yds and I let cylinder worth fly. It was a very windy day and I blame one miss to the wind. My buddy saw the splash to the right of the silhouette similar to how the hits were trending. The first two landed low right so I changed my aiming point to the chin area and fired the 4 remaining rounds. Shot number 4 is the one that missed. After watching the video, I was impressed with how fast it seemed the bullet hit the target even at 150yds. I expected a slightly longer delay. Theres another crimp groove in this boolit design that I havent even tried yet. That would lengthen the OAL and allow for a smidge more powder.....? But Im pretty happy with the results so far too! I hope to get another coyote soon and I plan for it to be with this gun and boolit.

Dropped an Apex trigger kit into the 22/45. Crisper than the factory unit and a little lighter, but not game gun light. I'm ambivalent on the flat trigger but overall I like it. Now I'm pondering something like red aluminum grips. It's a sickness all right... Better pics of the stags Zane did for my GP. I've got a set of Williams sights lined up (errr, no pun intended) so the red dot experiment is almost over. I like that GP rail with the Burris sight. Where did you find the rail and do you know if they make one for a Ruger SBH Hunter? That would be a fun coyote rig for my 41mag Hunter.

Shot a Rimfire Silhouette match this morning, followed by a pistol cartridge Levergun/Handgun Silhouette match this afternoon. Those rimfire turkeys and chickens are danged small!!! Shot my 1860 Henry and my G21SF in the Levergun/Handgun match (bigger targets thank goodness) and shot a 12 with the Henry and a 21 with the G21SF. My 21 was high score for the day in all categories (super windy, so the rifle barrels were blowing around like sails)! Sometimes a stubby barrel shortgun does come in handy.

Thanks, that's the Weigand no drill and tap GP rail. The only version I see that for sure fits the Hunter is the drill and tap version: www.jackweigand.com/Redhawk_Blackhawk_Bisley_Hunter.html There's a shorter mount that just replaces the rear sight but I don't know if it is compatible with the Hunter. I suspect a call to Weigand should sort out your options in short order though.

Took my Lightning out for 40-50 rounds yesterday. That’s an enjoyable little sixgun.

Took my OM Single Six out for really the first time today. This is one that i bought with a neat serial number. 4 digits, my birth year and my daughter’s birthyear, and it was made the year my wife was born. Pretty dang cool. I had to have it. But i put a 2 Dogs sight on it and it was too tall, so i adjusted the rear sight to where i wanted it and started filing. Once i got it close, i adjusted the rear sight to finish. My rear is adjusted way right so i am hoping the barrel is torqued a little and it aint just me. Gotta get someone who is a better shooter to confirm that, but I’ve always been right in the past. I love it. It shoots as good as i can ever hope to shoot. All groups at 25 yards off a Bog Pod PSR. This is 2 groups. It was shooting high so i lowered it one click and the dang thing tracked down and right. That’s a 1” dot, which pretty much disappears at that range so i have a feeling the tracking right was me losing the dot, or sun glare. So I put a 2” dot on it and fired 12 rounds and this is what i got. I also had my old Model 60 out. I love those old rifles. It pretty much hits where i aim, so i decided to do some steel shooting with it. Transitioning from target to target was pretty easy and i didn’t miss much. I’m not a shoot fast guy but it was fun.
