Tried the powder coated Lee 230gr TC at 15 in the XDs before I loaded a couple hundred to make sure the POI was the same as when they were coated in Alox. Once I verified the POI was the same, I loaded a few for more testing. GREAT SHOOTING, tek!

Thanks! The 4" XDs really does seem to be a shooter considering what it is. I've shot nearly, if not over, 1000 rounds through it and it shoots all of them about the same. It would be a great little pistol if it had a decent trigger. It's hard to shoot well because of it. I've become spoiled to my 1911s and single actions.
But, since this one doesn't have the class of a nice pistol, I don't mind carrying it and sweating on it. And, since I'm going to depend on it, I figure I need to shoot it enough that in the rare and remote chance that I ever did actually have to depend on it, I could hit with it.

I really like my 4" xds. Mine is in the big bad nine. I have no idea how much I've shot through it but it runs on anything. Yes the trigger is not very good compared to a real gun. It's very accurate also and a joy to carry. Used to pack it at work when alone, nicely concealed. May not be the best bear gun but a face full of 147s at 1050 should change its mind after I use the bear spritz.

Would be nice to be able to shoot my 260gr SWCs in it! I don't think they are high pressure rounds by any means, but they will speed up the slide velocity.

Well, today I decided to try again to stop a 480 Ruger slug, 400 grn WFN in some water jugs. Last time I tried, it went through (16) 1 gallon milk jugs & kept on going. So today, using larger jugs, (cat litter jugs,) filled with water, 20 of them in line, I planted a slug a bit low & centered. At 15 of them I had my slug. It just flattened the nose a bit & that was all. I also shot this on video, but it hasn't been downloaded yet. I also shot up the rest of the water jugs, both cat litter ones & milk jugs I had out there. Then I switched to my latest GP-100 addition. It's a 6" full lug. I had set up a new swinging plate assy & decided to break it in. I was shooting it at about 35-40 yds, seated in a chair, feet up, wrists propped on my knees. Ding-dong a bit today. Of course, I also had to throw a few 480's at the steel just to see how bad they'd swing. Just a fun day burning powder & testing stuff. Here's the video,,, (I hope) of me & the 480 with water jugs.

Day before yesterday, I shot a bunch of 45 ACP through my Smith Mountain Gun as well as the sixgun that replaced my FA 97 45 Colt/ACP. That is, a Flattop Ruger 45 Colt with the ACP cylinder as well. We measured this gun very carefully and while the cylinder throats needed to be corrected, the rest of the dimensions were very good. I converted it to Bisley, my favorite configuration. Trigger job was performed and I added a bullseye ejector rod. It's a bit bigger than my FA but it is a really good shooter. It's really cool to shoot the ACP in a sixgun. So manageable, mild, accurate, and no hunting for brass in the grass! Picture later.
Today was pretty cool. I got a call from a young man who is in the Border Patrol. He wanted me to help him improve his shooting. We went out and worked on his skills. He was like a sponge. It was great. We did some different drills and while he was pretty happy, I would have to say I was having the better time. His gun is a HK 40 caliber.

Here is a picture of the latest USPSA toy we purchased. This is a multi-position, swinging or windmilling type of target. Here it is with 3 no-shoots, and 2 shoot targets, at rest. And here it is, set with the 2 swingers positioned behind the no-shoots. It's activated by shooting a steel popper, with a cable attached, that pulls out the prop rod.

I shoot a bunch of 45 ACP. Have a Dillon Square Deal B dedicated to the production of the stubby little rounds. Shoot various ACPs several times a week. In addition to those in the pic below, I also shoot a CW45, Ruger LW CMD, and a S&W M&P45. 3 1/2" FA97 round butt, S&W 625 PC, Les Baer Ultimate Master (picture taken awhile back but still valid) Took this out yesterday (without the suppressor) -- Nelson 22 conversion on custom Delta Elite frame (great gun and loads of fun). Find myself shooting 22s a lot more lately -- getting lazy I guess. Paul

To paul105, the more I look at your (and I look at it a lot) 3 1/2" F.A.. That is a Revolver I think I'd like to have. Here are a couple of more pics with the .45 Colt cylinder. Mounted the 2x Leupold for load development. Turns out it is handy little package, light weight, compact and quite capable of hunting accuracy out to 100 yards with a rest. With the .45 Colt cyl, it will run 320gr CSWCGCs or Lee FNGCs at 1,140 fps if desired (much more pleasant with the ACP cyl and loads). Weight with scope and mount is right at 42 oz if IIRC. . . With open sights and .45 Colt cyl . . Fun little gun and amazingly easy to shoot. Pretty much dedicated .45 acp now. Paul

Well, I pulled the trigger (pun intended) on a Colt 1911 Lightweight Commander in 9mm. It arrived today and took it out for a function test. Shot 50 rounds, two different factory and one handload (all 115gr). Didn't do any real accuracy testing, just wanted to make sure it functioned properly before working up a load.
Trigger is a bit heavy and creepy which is easily remedied. For whatever reason, every gun new gun I've purchased recently shoots high at 25 yds (initial impression is that this one seems to be quite high) -- must be me. The combination of undercut trigger guard, Colt grips, narrow thumb safety and proper contour of thumb safety/rame/grip safety interface makes for a very comfortable grip.

Put a 100 rounds through my brand new (arrived yesterday) Wilson Combat Hackathorn Spl 9mm. Wilson 134 gr factory ammo. Truly a perfect 1911. Many thanks to Bill Wilson.

Colt five inch lightweight 45. Probably my favorite 1911. Clay targets at fifty yards offhand. Makes you sharp or frustrated.....

Glock 19 M.O.S. with a Leupold Deltapoint Pro installed. Very easy to shoot.
