Thanks! I just hate that I waited so long to give powder coating a shot. I need to get out my sizer and seat and crimp some checks on my 44s so I can coat a few of them.

Took the .45/70 BFR out this afternoon and shot a couple of groups using two Double Tap loads. The top target the 350 grain Swift A-frame load at 50 yards and the second is the 300 grain TSX load. This thing just flat-out shoots. My only complaint with these rifle loads is the noise and concussion. Definitely going to wear hearing protection with this revolver on the hunt.

Shot a relatively new acquisition this morning and got a REAL pleasant surprise. I bought someone's unfinished project that I have fondly named the Bride of Frankenstein. It's a D-Max (original BFR) in .454 with a 10-inch aftermarket barrel of unknown origins (I've forgotten the make). The Bisley grip was added and the process of matching it to the frame had been started but not finished. I added an Ultradot 4 that I had on Lucy (.454 SBH), gave it a good scrubbing and oiling, and headed down to the range. I am VERY happy with the results to say the least. I have plans for this one! This is a five-shot group at 25 yards and the ammo is Federal 300 grain Swift A-frames. These next two are the same load at 50 yards.

I really need to get to looking for a D Max BFR. Much nicer in my mind than the current "chunky" ones.

Tried out some Aguila Colibri in the .22 Single Six and found them to be minute of tree rat at twenty feet. So, I'll use them in the SS and reserve the precious CCI CB's for the 77/22 when the longer range shots are called for.

Although it HAS to be easier on ya compared to that .50 Alaskan BFR you had!!!

Oh yeah. That thing was its own level of brutal. Even made worse by the fact that it wasn't a BFR but an early prototype D-Max that was quite a bit lighter than this BFR. It would sling 525s at 1,600 fps. Ouch.

Too hot to shoot much of anything today. 97. Ugh.
Maybe next weekend. Daughter's bday party on Sunday. Sixteen. I can't believe it.

Shot with Rob Rowen yesterday afternoon. Mainly shot my .45 Colt Bisley with the six-shot oversized cylinder. Was shooting Double Tap 360 grain WFN loads. All shooting yesterday was done offhand. Here's a 25 yard target. Pulled shot number five..... Also had the pleasure of shooting this Bowen-tuned .45 Colt Redhawk. Gorgeous and accurate!

Checking the zero on my Range Officer at 15 with my 260gr SWC loads. Shots 1,2,3 This pistol continues to impress. I hadn't shot it in nearly a year after adding an Extreme Engineering Lite Speed hammer, sear, disconnector combo. There was a steel match today and I was deciding which pistol to carry.

Then I tried out the Accuracy international/Matt Mink CZ Shadow at 15. 3 shots. Followed by 3 quick offhand shots Forgive the goofy image. There is a guy who always shows some gaudy hip watch in all his handgun photos, so a few of us always try to include a watch pic to antagonize him.

Tried the steel challenge at a club today. Shot one stage with the 1911 then switched to the Shadow. Much easier to shoot the 9 "quicker" than rhe heavy loaded 45. I've only shot one prior and that was a year ago. Managed to finish 7th out of 20 something. I see that accuracy isn't the key. I can shoot 5 plates in 5 shots in 5 seconds, and the others can shoot the same 5 plates in 12 shots, but in 4 seconds and they win.
