About like you'd expect...if it misses, at any distance, it's MY fault!

25 rds of .22 Hornet with pan lubed lyman 225438 with out the gas check over 3 gr of trail boss and CCI 400s. The yougest boy quickly burned those up in a BRNO Fox II ( ZKB-680 with double sets, and flat bolt handle ), at about the same noise level as standard vel .22LR, never chronyed. Fun, quiet, and economical.

Somewhere in there is a stainless carbine I got back in 1992! Several years ago I decided it was too much trouble trying to hold a flashlight with a standard rifle while trying to rid my chicken pen/feed of coons and possums so I set out to build a .22 rifle specifically for the task. Like a wart, it grew from there. I'd hate to have to count how many midnight marauders it has sent to St. Peter. Accounting for 17 skunks in just the last 7 months.

Awesome! Today was 357 day for me. Had a bunch of old handloads that I just wasn't sure about, so I took the heavy duty stuff out to try and finish them up. High Standard and Rossi R-92.

Shot an auto-loader today.
Then walked around bent over at the waist hunting for brass amongst the rocks & weeds.
Revolvers are far more relaxing & enjoyable.

Well, I recently got another Ruger OM 41 mag shortie. Someone had filed the rear sight blade channel deeper, and installed a scope ring screw instead of the correct Ruger screw for elevation. After I replaced their parts with correct ones amid all the humidity,, I hit the range. I used 3 different loads & in very short order was hitting 3" groups at 25 yds, offhand, about 1" high. Each load was a bit different,,, and until I decide what to do with this gun, I'll leave things well enough alone. After almost 100 rounds, (some steel ringing involved,) I was sweaty & hot, so I retired back into the A/C!

Yesterday it was the Colt Delta 5.56, finding a couple of promising loads for it. Also shot my Parker Hale 7x57, getting unexplained flyers with a proven load though. Took it apart later and found the recoil lug pad, (factory bedded) was cracked. Not uncommon. It also has a steel square type crossbolt where bedding material or wood would normally be. I took out the crossbolt today and filled that area with AcraGel. When that cures I will put the round bolt ends back in their recess's in the stock and no one will know the difference. Looks like recoil was pushing the bolt backwards. I think glass bedding will be better in that spot.
