The more I shoot my S&W Governor using the moon clips and .45 ACP the more I enjoy it. I think Ruger hit a homerun with this new Redhawk and as soon as I find one for a decent price it will follow me home. Anxious to hear from you guys how they shoot.

Yes I did. The inabilities with the ACP's is not a problem for me,I have 3 perfectly good 1911's for that.

BOUGHT MY FIRST GUN IN 1956. HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS MORE SINCE. NOT ONCE HAS ONE EVER FOLLOWED ME HOME. THEY ARE QUITE LAZY AND HAVE TO BE CARRIED.

Got mine home and shot it last night. I didn't shoot it for accuracy but to see how I got along with the new grip. My normal 45 Colt load of a MiHec 270-SAA clone over 9 grains of Power Pistol is quite pleasant to shoot and my Bisley load of a Lee 310 SWCGC over 22 grains of H110 is definitely controllable even tho the frame smacked my thumb knuckle a couple of times. The grip on this thing works great, sits comfortably in the palm and stays there. The trigger is a bit heavy but on single action it breaks very cleanly,no grit and no creep,DA is heavy but very smooth. I ordered a spring kit this morning. As far as the ACP,even tho I have no plans of using them, the moons that come with it are by far the easiest to load and unload I have ever seen.

I need one of these! Gun fund is low as I just bought a CZ 17 Hornet yesterday but soon, very soon. Keep the reviews coming. How is the trigger?

Other than being heavy it is great.

Looked at one myself... Looks pretty good. Big and heavy. SA trigger felt better than I remember the RH SA trigger feeling. That RH front sight is easy to swap out. Should be a good fit where ever the 45 ACP S&W 625 is a good fit. I'll wait on a used copy to come in before I spend my dollars.

Guys..sorry for delay in answers...been in New Zealand filming for SG. I know...tough, ugly job, etc. Check out my blog (http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-hunt-of-lifetime.html) for my red stag!!! The old boy made me spend a whole day hiking up a mountain to get him...my knees are still glowing. And JT, not a WORD about how I'm getting too old to keep doing this stupid stuff...LOL! Rifle was a Ruger Gunsite Scout .308...light weight was a blessing on the climb.
Craig, I remember shooting really heavy bullets out of a S&W M25 .45 ACP on bowling pins and having to crimp the heck out of them even at the relatively low velocities Imwas running...this was back in the Old Days and the die set had a roll crimp rather than taper...I'll fish around in my old die sets and see what I still have, but at least in my limited experience you're 100% right on bullet creep in the heavy bullet ACPs.
Charles, Ashley Emerson, who took over from Randy, has .45 Colt Hammerheads...not up on the Garrett site yet, but I have a brochure if you need me to fish out info.

Man, that stag is huge! I guess I never knew they grew them so big in the Kiwi Empire.
