Used a bunch of VV 3N-38 to make major in a Dawson Comp. 5.5 in. race gun. No pressure problems. Only used W-W small pistol primers. Did not need rifle primers like guys using faster powders.

Muritic Acid removes blueing. Just rinse gun with clean water well afterward.

I would also consider Gradous Rifles if was looking to build a serious long range hunting rifle. He is perfectionist about his work. His reputation speaks for itself and is real, not Internet hype. Yes I am a customer and will be until he stops building rifles.

S & W Mod.17's for me! Never owned a Diamondback or Officers Model Match though. The way Colt prices are going may not get a chance

Sal, that sounds about like I was thinking. May drop back to 11.5 H-110 as a starting point. Thanks for the input.

Rim Rock Bullets, sized .313. I ordered the premium bullet, I hope the base will upset enough to seal chamber mouth's. Bullets should be in tomorrow.

Got my hands on some Starline .327 brass and some 125gr. Keith style lead bullets. Looking to find a starting point for full power loads with this bullet weight. I have only loaded 100gr. XTP's in this gun. Does anybody have any advice for this weight bullet? Have H-110, 2400, Lil Gun and W-296 on hand. Oh yeah, the gun is Ruger 8 shot Blackhawk, but may try the starting loads in a Smith 631 .327 also

Toroflow, I hate that you sold that 631 also. That is one of my "Grail" guns. Still looking. Did get a new 631,3 inch, ported bbl, blackened stainless, adj. sights in .327 mag. A little loud with carry ammo. Don't have a Mod.64 any more, but do have a 4in. Mod.34. Shoots around 3 inch's off hand at 20 yards. with W-W Hi-Vel hunting loads

Elmer Keith Load. Unique behind a 250 gr. SWC. Got a couple of original Lyman molds for the Keith 240 SWC, have not started to cast bullets yet. Shooting my loads out of a Thunder Ranch Mod.22 and a Smith Mountain Gun/Springfield Armory Commemorative. Want to try to take a doe with this load if I get the chance this year.

By the way, Ruger sells some holsters on their website. I think they are made by Hunter. I got a real nice thumb break holster for a Bearcat from them. Well, nice for the price. They also have some left handed holsters and Galico's for larger framed guns.

DeSantis makes a leather holster that will work for my 5.5 in. Hi-Standards also. I want to take it squirrel hunting. I try to take a different .22 handgun every time I go. Was sucessful last year with all S & W double actions. This year its Ruger single actions and various auto-loaders, and another kit gun I picked up recently. My favorite type of hunting.
