I use Ramshot Silhouette for top end loads in the super and 9 x23 with 115-125 grain bullets. It is the same as the old Winchester Action Pistol. It will do 1400+ in a 5" and 1300+ in a 4" barrel. Unique also works in mid range loads.

I've burned a ton of WW 540 now known as HS-6. Bullet weight 125- 150 gr. cast.

I'm not using a revolver in 38 Super but my Kimber really likes WSF and Power Pistol.

I've used VV3n37 and AA#7 in 9x23 Winchester with good results. my first 9x23 was a Springfield Armory gun and it would also chamber and shoot 38 Super just fine so I'd load up scrounged 38 Super from the range and shoot mild loads with that brass. My current gun uses a Nowlin barrel and the 38 Super won't work. No matter, the 9x23 runs at 1500 fps all day with 124's.
Edited to add: There's a guy on the Glock Talk forum that has been loading up his 38 Super with VV3n38 with excellent results.

Ditto HS6. I run 7.8grs in my Colt under the Hornady HAP 121 gr bullet. Shoots very well at about 1225fps. W231 is good too. Power Pistol too, oh and dont forget Blue Dot and.......

I have always thought a Super 38 would be a great round for a Single Six....

I bought a bunch of 135gr jacketed .357 RN, seated them just shy of canelure & used midle charge of 231.... I was getting about 12" groups at 100yds with an EAA Witness.
2 Dogs has got me thinking: just need a Ruger .32 donor gun & .357 bbl.... should be a pretty easy conversion. Just recut some threads on the bbl & adjust set back, machine front sight....

Right now I have a bunch of 115gr jhp to use in a five shot revolver. Looking for middlin to max loads. Thanks ;D I’m curious, who makes/made a 5 shot 38 Super revolver? I remember back in the day, Jerry Miculek used a custom S&W N frame 8 shot 38 Super with full moonclips in USPSA. I remember the short lived 9mm Parabellum 5 shot’s from S&W, Ruger and Taurus and even the short lived 356 TS&W but I never seen a 38 Super. Jeff

mindustrial, if you convert a 32 mag to 38 super you need to keep in mind it will only tolerate mild loads....

You do know you can run .38 Super in a .357 Mag revolver right? I understand Jerry Michilek does this. The cases are shorter than .38 special, and eject faster, but are nearly magnum in power and pressure. And during the recent panic, you can buy .38 Super more easily, but usually not more cheaply.
