Fairly certain I saw that very gun, or one exactly like it, sell for a little less than half of what he's asking earlier this year.

My 5" blued Full Lug had some serious thread choke when I evaluated it after purchase, a common problem with larger bore Ruger's...I first reamed the throats to a uniform .432 and since it was obvious these guns have a rather thin forcing cone area my second action was to fire lap to remove the choke. 95% of my shooting with this revolver will be with my own cast bullets at modest 44 Special velocities, so I don't anticipate problems but will still keep a close eye out for trouble with the thin forcing cone that these guns have.

There's usually TC barrels of all types listed on eBay, I've put several complete TC muzzleloader's together from parts purchased on there...As another member mentioned, Track of the Wolf has aftermarket & occasionally TC factory barrels for sale as well.

They make fine ammo with quality components in my experience. I've fired thousands of 9mm 30 Luger & 30 Mauser through my Luger's & Mauser C-96 pistols without any issues. Like most European ammunition, it tends to be loaded warmer than American ammo.

I've long wanted to register on that Forum but it basically says don't even bother because they won't accept my email address that I'm forced to have by living in a rural area. It looks to be a great Forum to belong to & I frequently see things for sale in the classified section that I'd POUNCE on...If I could only contact the seller!

Yes, genuine factory cutaways are indeed quite scarce & highly sought after by serious collector's...Often selling for considerably more than an unaltered gun in pristine condition.

All my New Model's get that treatment, blued or stainless...Ruger has defaced far too many firearms with that nonsense.

We need to keep on them, they're already making 32-20 brass which the 25-20 is based upon, so it's only a minor tooling change. They are offering many more rifle brass offerings, so don't be shy about telling them what you'd like to see!

No barrel trouble but huge 0.457" throats on the one I "had". Mine were larger than that...I could drop a .458 rifle bullet through mine!
