So there is a 45 6" for sale for $425 bucks. It seems the prices just keep going up on these things. But it raises the question. If a guy wants a 45 would that be a decent deal as compared to having a 44 rebored? How accurate are/were the 45 barrels? A Bowen custom barrel is like $1300 bucks.

Funny you should mention it. Just bought one off ebay last night 45 colt 6". As far as I recall, no issue with the 45 Colt barrels. Some early 44 mags had issues. I passed on one for $300 after the factory stopped selling them thinking it was too high. I paid more for mine yesterday, but they will always be rare and likely will not be going down in price. Price wise, I think I come out a bit ahead paying more for a 45 barrel than buying a 44 and having it rebored.

No barrel trouble but huge 0.457" throats on the one I "had".

Both my Colt SAA and Anaconda had .457" throats, but both had good barrels and shot well with big bullets.
