Looking for 100 pieces new or once fired. Finding any new Starline brass right now for .50 Alaskan is like looking for a politician's integrity.

Is it safe to scrape the muzzle with a brass or copper brush? Will that risk scratching the muzzle?

Hey Fellas, I've been shooting some powder coated lead bullets out of my 10mms and even after cleaning with a copper brush, this is what the muzzle looks like. I naturally don't want to scratch the muzzle. What suggestions do you guys have?

I have heard e d mixed things about Fusion. Never handled one so no personal experience. I hope a new barrel helps the accuracy.

Usually, the only thing on Glocks I change are the sights (not a fan of the stock ones), extended controls, and a Ghost Trigger bar, which is the same as a stock one but polished. Everything else stays stock. If it ain't broke...

IN SAFARI CAMP IN 1998 NEAR VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE, THEY TOLD OF A RECENT HUNTER WHO WAS SCARED TO DEATH OF LIONS SO HE BOUGHT AND BROUGHT A 50 AE DESERT EAGLE WITH HIM FOR PROTECTION AT NIGHT WHILE IN HIS CHALET. IIRC, IT WAS SAID HE COULD NOT SHOOT THE 50 AE WORTH A S... The thing is, Desert Eagles are very accurate. That's assuming you've taken the time to get used to the gun. I personally shoot excellent groups under 2 inches at 11 yards regularly with my .50 AE. Sounds like this guy never learned how to shoot the damn thing. Still, I'd rather carry my .500 JRH revolver if I was worrying about large, dangerous, animals. Desert Eagles tend to jam from my experience.

You could also call XS sights and ask them for their recommendation too (especially if you want a big dot or vertical white line). If you explain to them that your front sight is dovetailed and not a newer screw on type, they may swap front sights for you (worth asking). much obliged and thank you for digging through your parts drawer. I think you're right and I need a taller one. I'll check with XS too, like you suggested.

Doesn't the rifle have a screw on ramp with a dovetail? XS makes a nice front sight that matches the rear if it does. If not Skinner has a good dovetail sight. The rear sight came with a ramped front sight, but I would have to drill into the barrel for that as the dovetail it came with from the factory is cut into the barrel. Here's a picture:

QD, MGW sells good stuff! Let me know how tall your front sight is and I'll see if I have something taller. I have a stash of Marlin dovetail front sights of varying heights. Mike I had to do a round-about measurement with my calipers since it's wedged in. It came out to be 0.505" which I think means it's 0.500". The MGW sights have a 0.530" and a 0.570". I think the 0.570" is the one I should try.

FYI, by peep-sight I mean it's an XS rear aperture sight.

Hey all. I have a .357 Magnum Marlin 1894c from the 1990's. I added a peep-sight on the rear which is now causing the gun to shoot high even with the rear at the lowest possible setting. So, I need a taller front bead. It's one of the dovetail slots. Does anyone know of a well-made, durable front sight? I found the ones in the link below, but not sure on if these are good or of poor quality. www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/ma38bmfs

Their website says the 45 Super receives the same heat treating which is what prompted me to ask. Glad you did. Like I said, I think I got someone on the phone who was just winging it. I think you got the correct answer.

My wife had her Glock 17 milled at Wright Armory in AZ (where I'm at). They did a great job and they absolutely do 1911s.

I wrap me left index finger in front of the trigger guard to avoid said problem. Works just fine for me.

I spoke to Starline about it years ago. The person on the phone claimed the Rowland brass is heat treated differently and/or has a slightly different alloy.
I'm inclined to believe the email you got over the phone conversation I had. If someone is taking the time to respond, they either know or asked the roght person. And putting it in writing makes them liable, and I doubt they'd do that if this wasn't the truth.
