I was getting lots of leading in the bore with the pc bullets that left the ring, however now that i'm lubing traditionally, no rings and no leading. Accuracy was good until the leading started.

David, checked the throats with a pick, glides smoothly in the chamber then rides roughly up the ramp and them smooth again in the throat, dont feel any type of ridge but can feel and hear the roughness in the ramp area.

How about a model 96 lever in 480?
Pinned front sight blades on single action blued guns.
GP 100 in 44 spc, 3" bbl. adjustable sights, 5 shot, a sweet strong carry gun.
Super Redhawk grip frame on Redhawks.
Drill and tap all single actions with adj sights for easy scope mounting.
Superblackhawk bisley chambered in 500 jrh.

It was harbor freight red and you are correct for the 20 minute bake, I missed that, I read 10 minutes on the forums and never looked on the bottle. You know guys dont need instructions, but I will try these again with a proper bake time, thanks.

Just tried these again using the same alloy, 70/30 ww-pure but lubed conventionally, no powder coating. Seated 5 in upper crimp groove and 5 in lower crimp groove using a moderate crimp. In lower groove shot 5 into 1 5/8" @ 25 yds off sandbags, no lead in bbl and cylinder clean of lead rings. Shot the 5 in upper crimp grove, 1 1/4" for 4, 5th shot made it 2 1/4" @ 25 yds, also no lead in bbl or cylinder. Only difference between the pc and lubed bullets was the coating and the oven heating to 400 degrees for 10 minutes, maybe the crimp cut into the pc and cut/weakened it or the heating softened the bullets too much. I had seated a pc bullet and pulled it with an inertia puller and it showed no scuffing or damage. Gonna use lubed bullets for now, may experiment with the pc again sometime. Thanks for all the advise and comments. John.

Tried today with a very light crimp, still happened, will try with regular lubed bullets.

Yep, just started pc bullets, with these new issues I might go back to greasing them up.

I think it might have been my crimp, I had crimped these harder than some I did before and I didnt see this happen on them, will try them at the range again tomorrow, thanks.

Need some possible answers and a solution. Have been loading my bisley 480 with 70/30 cast miha 395 gr HP. Using 13 gr of hs6 powder, using new starline cases which have been sized and inside/outside chamfered prior to loading. Just started pc'ing these bullets. Today when shooting I am getting rings of lead remaining in the chambers after firing, they seem to be in the end of the chamber at the case mouth and come out easily. Bullets were sized after PC and push thru the throats with a little resistance. What's going on? Anyone ever have this?

Gave up on a big shop that had been holding one for someone else for 1 1/2 weeks, they won't get my business anymore, I had cash ready to buy but they still wouldnt sell me it. Found one online at a shop that ended up being $20 more than the shop here and saved me 2 hrs round trip time plus gas. Don't wait too long, some of these prices now will probably be as low as they go.
