Back in Octber of last year, I contacted Doc about making me up a proper holster to pack my Colt NF .44 special in. All of his holsters are first rate, so the choice was difficult. I was looking for something that Skeeter Skelton would most likely use. After looking at what Doc had to offer, it was a toss up between a Threepersons holster or a No.5 rig. In perusing his website, I found his page dedicated to Skeeter. Barranti Leather Skeeter Skelton's page On that page was a No.5 holster that Bart Skelton had made up as a tribute to his dad (One with a "Bar T" brand on it). I really liked the lines of that holster a lot. So I decided that a No.5 would fit the bill. I had originally asked for a small bear paw print on my holster, but Doc suggested that the larger print would look better on a rig this size. The holster arrived yesterday and it was definitely worth the wait! The fit and finish of this rig is outstanding, to say the least. Doc is a true craftsman and it shows in his work. This holster is the perfect companion to my Colt and I look forward to many years of packing both. I am pretty sure that Skeeter would like the looks of my outfit.....

Had one but traded it off. Been kicking myself in the butt ever since. Same here. Mine was a blued version that was a great shooter. I would love to pick up a stainless model someday.....

I agree, the 3" guns are really nice! In addition to my Colt PP/DS 3", I also have a S&W Model 36 with a 3" barrel:

I have an old Police Positive that had some barrel damage. I found a 3" Detective Special barrel and had that installed. I also have a 2-1/2" Diamondback that is a great little snubby too......

That is a great looking Bisley Vaquero. I have a pair of Bisleys in .45 Colt and one in .44 magnum. Both of my .45 Colts have 5-1/2" barrels. One is stainless and the other one has a factory full blue finish. The guy I bought the blued one from said it had originally had the color case hardened finish, but he got a bulged barrel from a squib load. He sent it back to Ruger for a new barrel and they refinished it in all blue. My .44 magnum started out life with a 4-5/8" barrel. I sold it to a buddy of mine and then later got it back in a trade. I picked up a 7-1/2" barrel (from ebay I think) and had that installed. I really like the balance of the pistol with the longer barrel.

I didn't realize that they stopped making the NEF single shot shotguns, when I gave my NEF single shot 12 gauge to my son. I had replaced the wood stocks on it with a set of the synthetic "Survivor" style stocks. I had an extra .410 barrel for this gun that I kept, in the hopes of getting another NEF shotgun that I could use it on. I was able to score another NEF (20 gauge) from an old ranch neighbor for $100.00. Shortly thereafter, I was looking on Gunbroker and found an NEF receiver for $60.00, so I bought that one and installed my old wood stocks and the .410 barrel on it. I am not letting either one of these babies get away from me...... !

{SNIP} That is a beauty, they had about five holsters on their website I wanted. Thanks! I would love to get another one for my 4-5/8" Ruger NV that I have. It is also a .44 special like the Sheriff's Model.....

I have a large "Box o' holsters" as well..... I was given this sweet D.M. Bullard high rise holster for my Ruger Sheriff's Model by Fowler here on the board: I am waiting on a No.5 holster for my Colt NF from Doc, but I have a couple of rigs for my Ruger SBH that also work my Colt NF. This one is a Guide's Choice chest holster by Diamond D leathers: This is a pancake rig by Lobo Leathers: And this holster is made by the Nez Perce holster company out of Montana (Sadly no longer in business): This is an S.D. Myers Threeperson's holster that came with my O.M. Ruger Flat top: It also fits my Ruger NV (.44 special): My El Paso Saddlery holsters: Safariland holster for my Ruger Bisley that I had. The pistol got away from me, but I still have the rig for my SBH:

They are fantastic holsters. I graciously gifted this D.M. Bullard high ride pancake rig by another board member (Fowler). It is a very high quality holster and carries my Sheriff's Model Ruger Vaquero perfectly:
