Im going to start this thread to let others know what we are shooting and what is possible. Ill start with my FA 83 6" 454. Sights: bushnell rxs250 red dot Load: 23.5gr wc820 federal 150 starline 45c brass 325gr "ruger only" powder coated and gas checked. Distance: 31yds Rest: bench I just shot this group minutes ago. It not representative of what the gun can do but it is what it is. What is spectacular about this is that this is a completely arbitrary load i picked out of my....the sky when i started shooting cast bullets. ZERO load work. The group measures exactly 1" CTC. This gun and load crank on my wrist terribly and by the end of a cylinder im pretty much wincing.

I know it's not a single action, but still a pretty good group, especially considering the Millett had a 5 minute dot.

A gun doesn’t have to be pretty to shoot well. This rough 41 Magnum shoots as well as any gun I own. Target is 5 shots at 50 yards off a bench rest with 210 XTPs and H110. imgur.com/a/jEy4lIp

Does the gun shoot like that on average or was that an exceptional group? It certainly gives me something to strive toward.

The gun shoots consistent good groups, but I usually can’t manage 5 good shots in a row. I usually pull one or two and blow a one hole group. Every now and then everything comes together and it happens. This BFR 454 is also capable of excellent accuracy. I’m the weak link to consistent groups like this. imgur.com/a/EyNefF2

I started this thread to give people an idea of where they and their guns need to be to "call it good" and not spend undo time and components chasing a dream. Lets try to keep it representative of what the gun is doing on average, not those wallet groups we all get from time to time.
