Nothing impressive here: This is with a S&W Thunder Ranch 325, 10 yards, off-hand, double action. 6 shot group of 45 AR, 255 gr. LSWC @ 744 fps. (sixth shot is under the measure thingy in both pics, I swear) This is with a S&W 625, 10 yards, off-hand, double action. 45 AR, 240 gr. RCBS CM @ 734 fps. All day long, until the Hogue grips on the 325 raise a blister on the base of my thumb and tear the cap off of it and I start bleeding on my guns. Hahahaha! Guess I'm in the market for a new set of grips.

Hunter01-Im going to start this thread to let others know what we are shooting and what is possible. Ill start with my FA 83 6" 454. I started this thread to give people an idea of where they and their guns need to be to "call it good" and not spend undo time and components chasing a dream. Lets try to keep it representative of what the gun is doing on average, not those wallet groups we all get from time to time. ************************************************************************************************************************************************** Hunter01 I will do my best to post some pics as I dig through them in the spirt of your post. The groups with the .357 Blackhawk were shot after I rebuilt a basket case gun. Some of you know how persistent I am. This is the very first group at 100 yards I shot with the .357 Rescue gun. Since the gun was shooting 6"groups at 25 yards I was happy with this. This group and several more like it were shot with a load that has shot good from all of our .357s using a 158 grain XTP over H110 lit by a Federal GM200M primer. Since I consider 100 yards the absolute limit on deer with a .357 I could have lived with this. Groups 3 or 5 shots stayed in the 4" and slighly under range. Of course I became disatisfied with it and started pursuing a better load. I found some data for 300MP that people were saying shot great. After looking for the data the only pressure tested load data I found was with the 158 grain Speer. After some extrapolation I tried it. Zero issues with my starting load which was well off of the maximum charge for the Speer bullet. The chronograph showed 1492fps from the 6.5" barrel. The extreme spread was 17fps. At 25 yards it shot a ragged hole. I headed to the 100 yard range with it. The first group was about 1.5". I adjusted the scope for this load which impacted several inches off from the H110 load. The next group was nearly exactly 1". Since then It hasn't shot a group at 100 yards with that load over 1.5" except when the 50 year old Leupold scope let go. I replaced the scope with a brand new Leupold. Here is the same gun with the H110 load at 100 yards. The first 100 yard load after fixing the

Have a box of Winchester 45 ACP 230gr JHP, 50 rounds. Put 12 rounds in an ammo pouch. Shot 7, 5 round groups. 3 rounds left. What to do? Loaded the 3 rounds in the Bisley 45 ACP cylinder. Standing, off hand at 15 yards, 3” orange dot

Come on down to Texas and if you can shoot 3 consecutive 5 shot groups (not picking one chamber) with that ruger under 1.5" at 100yds, ill let you hunt my place for a week for free.

If you're offering free hunts for just 3 1.5" groups from a Ruger then I need to get down there with either of my Maximum shooters.
True the Maxi's may have been better fitted than a regular Ruger, but they are as delivered except a little trigger work.

Fellas, i need to apologize to each and every single one of you! I have been praying relentlessly for patience lately. It is something that i have special trouble with. I dont have patience with people or animals. I expect to be able to tell someone something once and never have to say it again. I expect horses and bird dogs to be perfect in short order. I expect "perfection" out of myself and everyone and everything in my little bubble. The problem with this digital world is that we soon start including these forums and virtual lives into that "bubble". I am so sorry for trying to "correct" things that i thought were wrong. And im sorry for "calling people out" to somehow "prove" themselves. Its childish juvenile behavior. I especially apologize to you Dave. You should be ashamed to even know me with the way i have treated people.

Took it out to 100 and 125yds on steel. First shot at 100yds i held bottom of the head and it struck in the right shoulder. I had a very brisk R-L wind at close to 90*. Once i had wind and elevation noted i shot a group center mass. This is a large 100% IPSC target so bisecting it wasnt a super precise hold. The reaulting group was 5 in 5" and 4 in a little under 3". After that i held over the left shoulder (right side) and shot to the head 3 times. Easy money and 4" group. Moved out to the 125 and shot a couple center mass to gauge windage and elevation. Then put two in the head for a 2 1/4" "group". I am sighted top of the dot at 50yds and i am amazed at how flat it shoots to 125. Myself and the gun are now capable from a steady rest to 125yds i believe. Ill try to continue to push further out. 100yds 100yds 125yds

I don't have time to run down there right now But I could ship it. It's a freak of nature. I am trying to decide whether to change the scope out to one of my Leupold 4X or 2.5X8 scopes. I bought several new Leupolds when I started hearing rumors about them discontinuing handgun scopes. It isn't the only gun I have with a 2X Leupold that shoots good but it is the most accurate. I have some lead free bullet tests to do with it. After that if you would like I can figure something out. I believe anyone that can shoot can keep 100 yard groups under 2" with it.

From what ive learned of revolvers and shooting them so far, thats just phenomenal. Should i ever be blessed to own one like that, ill protect it and cherish it until the end! Its really amazing to me using manual machines in my own shop, that they were able AND DEDICATED enough to produce something with such obvious close tolerance prior to the CNC days. Whomever built it certainly took pride in their work.

Its really amazing to me using manual machines in my own shop, that they were able AND DEDICATED enough to produce something with such obvious close tolerance prior to the CNC days. Whomever built it certainly took pride in their work. As I have said this one is a freak. I thought about using the frame to build something bigger but I can't make myself dstroy the best shooting factory barreled Ruger I have ever seen. The throats in this gun are perfect. The barrel appears to have been lapped but I don't have anyway to prove that. The only major fault is the cylinder gap is .006". My son has tried to talk me into tightening that up but I am scared to do anything to it for fear of messing up its accuracy. I am not a .357 fan but I can't make myself wreck this gun. I am planning on killing something with it this year. The funning thing is it was in rough shape when I got it. Of special note was the base pin. It had a dip worn in it so bad that it looked like it was bent. Seeing that I expected the cylinder to be worn just as badly but it didn't have a mark in it. True all the way through. I stuck a belt mountain pin in it was it was tight as is. The gun had been shot so much that the pins had major groves worn in them. The hammer looked like some one hit it on a grinder wheel.
