I have done a lot of shooting at close range. While not the same, I certainly see that it can be beneficial to decent long range marksmanship. With the Single Six I often shoot at a weed stalk or a blade of grass at 20-30 feet. Sometimes I shoot empty 22 casings at those distances and some farther. I've found it to help my overall shooting at distances 25 to 50 yards.

Forearm/wrist on range bag. Squeeze trigger to target, and keep fresh oxygen for eye clarity. Helps me anyways! Lots of fun!!!

This is a five-shot group from my Alan Harton Customized Ruger 480 Super Blackhawk Bisley. Alan tightened up the action and I did the grip work. This load is my favorite and the only load that I shoot through this gun: 420 grain LFN GC, Starline Brass, 20 grains of H110, WLP primers. If I do my part it will hit the 12" plate at 100 yards consistently!! I only shoot a cylinder or two and go home.
