I can join in. This place is filled with enablers. I got the bug for a 357 max and shooting 100 yards with iron sights. This was my first session out with 180gr XTPs. I also have a 41mag Blackhawk with a 6.5" barrel and a 2-7x scope that will keep them all in the red very consistently. Very nice photo and pistol - thanks for sharing!

The Blackhawk Maximum cylinder about equals radius of your red dot. To hit that red dot 4x6 with your first shots from a .357 Maximum @ 100 yards is astounding. To have a Blackhawk .41 Mag that “...will keep them all in the red very consistently,” just does not sound credible. The table needs some legs on it. There is no danger in providing details. I enjoy shooting 50-100 yards with handguns. This forum is what encouraged me to start shooting 100 and beyond. People look at you funny when you pull out a DAO revolver on the 200 or 300 yd rifle range.

Just got done at 100 with my Tisas Tanker Commander in 9mm. Not too bad considering the 20+ mph winds right now. Sent 9 rounds of handloaded 147 zero JHP with Hornady brass and longshot powder. One of the 9 shots went slightly high and can just see it at top center of pic. Next few days are supposed to be like this in Iowa and when it settles down, will give it a go again and try the Garrison too

At one time, I could shoot 100 yards with an iron sighted gun and actually hit something. 30+ years later, not a chance with my eyes the way they are. Back around 1993, I shot a hog near San Antonio with my 8.5" 41 Jurras Auto Mag at 85 yards. Hit him front-on, right between the eyes, hand held, unsupported, in the pouring rain. The older I get, the better I was.

I shoot groups at 100 yards as part of load development. These were shot with a 460 S&W off a sandbag using 200 and 240 grain bullets. The 200s seemed to shoot well with little effort. The 240s started out stringing a little vertical but got better by changing powder weight. ] I lay no claim to being a good bench shooter but I did soon discover where your arm is positioned behind the revolver, tightness of grip, how you control the revolver through recoil, etc all shows up on the target. I can't do it perfect but I do my best to do it the same each time.

South there is a neighbor 750 yards down the fence...the next neighbor south is 5 miles... The paved road is a mile away and from there town is 29 miles... I love the place!! Bob

David Bradshaw First session... Not first shots. I could never come close to your level of experience or ability. This was a clear target, second time shooting at it after I already had poked my initial holes, which you can see are covered up. How's that saying go; even a blind nut finds a squirrel? Or, something along those lines As far as the 41, I don't have any pictures of said targets to back up my claims to say "I dun it" but I also consider it cheating compared to the maximum just because it wears a Burris 2-7x. 215gr GT Bullets SWCHP loaded with 2400 in Starline brass (man I wish I could get some more of this black brass), this claim is also ALL shot from bench, I'm not miracle man nor do I claim to be. Here is my 41 mag duckling.

Nice setup on that .41....
About 1990 I happened upon about the same setup but the gun had a set of checkered Herrett's Shooting Start stocks and Leupold 4X scope instead of your Burris..same Weaver scope base...for a whole $165.00.
Left it scoped for many years but finally took the scope off when I bought a 7.5" Hunter and it has gotten shot a lot more with the open sights than it ever did with the scope on...

The ONLY time I have tried 100 yards with a handgun was years ago when a shooting buddy brought a DE .357 to the range. We shot bowling pins at 80-100 yards that day. Nothing precise, but we had tons of fun. That DE made the distance seem like a cakewalk.
Accuracy and precision at 100 yards? I'd love to and I'm trying to figure the right platform for that. Maybe a scoped X Frame 350 Legend or a Ruger SBH Hunter Bisley in 44 mag? Always dreaming up some new hobby...
