wasn't said in any way to diminish the original... lets just say I "may" not be as good a shot, or as familiar with lion anatomy... something that at least starts with a "4" at minimum would make me feel better... shot several sick & wild farm cats over the years... & cats just don't die easy...

It's not unlike reading about the Old African Hunters. Not many consider the 6.5x54, 7mm Mauser and 303 British "African" Cartridges anymore.
I was reading one of my ancient gun books a while back. The writer mentioned "The Big 30" was just too destructive on game. Turned out "The Big 30" was the 300 Savage.
Oh My, how things have changed...

I never knew of this gun and I love the looks of it, can't wait to see when it comes in. In my opinion, this is an overlooked milestone in handgun hunting. Some people load an existing cartridge hotter and receive decades of praise. While others do really innovative things and never get credit. Thanks for pointing out the lack of familiarity and the reason I pursued this project. A few have been of the opinion that a Uberti Revolver isn't worth spending money on to create a custom. I disagree...

Thanks for pointing out the lack of familiarity and the reason I pursued this project. A few have been of the opinion that a Uberti Revolver isn't worth spending money on to create a custom. I disagree... I like seeing and learning the historical changes that took place over time in the world of handgun hunting. Something like this that utilizes the adjustable sight on a gun that normally doesn't have one is just different and innovative for the time. The cartridge to me is six in one hand half dozen in another, you can make a revolver into anything you want, but at the end of the day it's what you want and how you decide to utilize it is what makes it purposeful. I have no quarrels against Uberti and you've only ever spoken praise of them, so why not use one as a base for something as fun as this. All I have to add is; damn you for putting another idea in my head.

Said It worked perfectly...tj That was the situation here too. He worked for California, so American Mountain Lions. His book largely focuses on his dogs, so the lions were also trees.

Only one chapter contributed to the gun. I only bought the book because I thought it an overlooked milestone in handgun hunting history. For those interested in a copy, I recommend this seller... www.dusupply.com/brave-and-other-stories.html

Just got the anticipated email from Dave saying all went well and The Lion Hunter is finished as of this evening.
Will ship Overnight Express Monday, so will be in hand by Tuesday Evening.
Weather is looking great towards the weekend. A range report will certainly follow...
