A Bisley Max Hunter would blow my skirt way up.

I wish SOMEONE would bring out a revolver in .357 Max. I doubt that Ruger will EVER mess with that cartridge again. But there is Smith & Wesson, with their X-frame, Freedom Arms, but they would have to bring out an elongated frame first. The cartridge is a great one, and shouldn't have to die out just because some gun writers of that time weren't consulted on its development and therefore knocked it from the get-go. The late Bob Milek was one of the worst in that endeavor. It's a shame for that to have occurred.

I was scheming last night trying to figure out if we could do more to make it happen; besides email to the CEO or posts on a thread.
I got to wondering if a GoFundMe approach might work where no one paid until the task was accepted. I wonder how much we would have to get committed to a purchase to convince Ruger to make a few. What would be the specs and price that would get shooters to plunk down a promise to purchase if produced? Would it need to be Ruger?
Any thoughts? Prescut

Ruger has the deepest pockets, but Ruger, I dont think, will ever do that again. When they came out with the .357 Maximum, silhouette shooting was at it's peak. Now, I don't believe that IHMSA has 300 members, worldwide. That's a shame because it is one of the most fun shooting games out there, for handguns. Maybe if they went to a money game, it might make a turn-around, but I doubt it. Too many ranges have already folded. I believe we are down to two in Texas. But, having said that, the .357 Max cartridge is a good one for other things, too. It would make an excellent lever action rifle cartridge, and I'm surprised that no major rifle maker hasn't done that. If one major gun maker would step forward, and make a new revolver, or rifle for the cartridge, I believe it would attract more users. It is a fantastic cartridge.

Any chance of having a Bisley grip? Just fits my hand better. But I will still buy one with the plow handle! Would the ballistics in a lever gun be any better than the 350 Legend?

Most likely not a practical alternative to a new Lipsey 357M Ruger (I would buy one)... Magnum Research / BFR supposedly will do "custom" calibers. I would expect that a 357 Max would be on the long cylinder frame and most likely guess a starting price of around $2500. On the "customize your gun", build your own page, BFR shows "standard" calibers like 445 Super, 375x444, 499LWR, 50Beo; so 357M not that much of a stretch. www.magnumresearchcustoms.com/custom-bfr-revolver-landing/

I’ve never been a big 357 max fan but I do love my bisley 414 max with the FA top strap for the glass.

I'd much prefer the Super Blackhawk Hunter grip frame. I think it feels better in the hand and it looks better than a bisley.

Okay, call me a broken record. Call me a crybaby. Call me a whiney b***h. I don't care. Ronnie Wells' thread on "Dreaming about 357 Maximums and sweet old men!!!!" has me chomping at the bit to get a .357 Maximum. What must we do to make this stainless Maximum a reality vs. rumors & vaporware? Do we have to pester, bribe, harangue Jason of Lipseys? Would it help at all to write to Ruger? Do we have to get a group buy together?

Flatter shooting afield. The plains, tundra ,mtn and bean field shooters should like. If of the hand gun variety anyway.

In hand guns, revolvers anyway, I don't think in terms of energy, Ft. LBS. but there is that angle.
