Sounds like we'll just have to resume pestering him starting in spring of next year then. Hopefully by that time panic buying will have subsided. We'll have to let Ruger know directly of our interest in bringing back this combo.

Just looking at the number of replies every time the subject comes up about the 357 Maximum should tell us something about how much interest there is.

I'm a bit stubborn. I'm a bit of a dreamer. But most of all, I just want a nice, new stainless .357 Maximum! It's been 2 1/2 years now. Has anyone heard ANYTHING about such a beast ever making it to market or are we more likely to see the Ruger #3 resurrected first? Yeah, a #3 in .45 Colt would be nice, too.

You would think with the 350 legend bfr selling like hotcakes that Ruger would want to get in on that piece of the pie too.

IF, they built them, I would also purchase TWO.

Never understood why BFR doesn't chamber the 445SM, 414SM, or the 357max in their long cylinder gun. They do have them. Custom Shop only and all on the long cylinder frame. If they had a maxi length frame, I would already have all three.

Seems a 1.4 inch Max-like round would be doable with just a long 5 or 6 shot cylinder. 357 RugerMag in conjunction with Hornaday. The standard frame will ALMOST fit a 357 Max and XTP crimped on the groove, right? You meen the 360 Dan Wesson? 1.41" case. Thinking about a 5-shot version myself. Will surpass even the 353 loads.

I think just a BFR 357 Magnum rechambered to 360 DW would do all that could be asked of the caliber...

I've got 300 pieces of DW brass waiting on the day But a re-launch and re-naming of the round would certainly be in order. Can't let anyone else get credit, and everything has to be new.

We would probably have them in our hands if covid hadn’t hit. Oh well, maybe in 10 years

Maybe they can work it out with CZ if there's a demand for it from enough people. If not, a reamer is available and the cylinder is plenty long enough. In fact been thinking about a custom shop 41mag to 414 job.

Yeah, I was talking about on a privately owned gun. Simply lengthen the chambers and remark the gun. Easy since the markings are on the barrel...
