They said in a "month". They did not say which month!

They said in a "month". They did not say which month! That's funny, it's the exact same logic my girlfriend always uses.

Does the custom shop do barrel bands? I feel that extra piece on the barrel just completes a Bisley big bore.
Black micarta Bisley, 6.5-7” with long ejector and barrel band would be a dream

I’m changing my mind. Not replacing my 460bfr, I’m replacing my 3.5” vaquero with the linebaugh. No space for a barrel band for me, it’s long ERH and barrel to match. Stick to lighter loads and life is good. Big bore or no, I think that’ll be a nice config too.
Though when I wanted a proper barrel length, mine was gonna be a 6.5, white micarta, long ejector.. No barrel band for me.

Yes, they put the cart before the horse before they got their ducks in a row, and put their mouth in gear before they engaged their brain.

Yeah, I called last week. Now they think it'll be released in October. They also believe the website will be updated before they are, but that won't stop me calling monthly. I'm not saying the phone rep and I are on first name terms yet, but at the rate I'm calling I'll have a four letter name soon.

I called them Friday and they said a couple months now.
My guess is they want to be really certain the BFR isn't going g to disappoint with this cartridge.

My guess is they are dragging their feet due to resource issues, likely a small number of revolversmiths and a huge number of orders.
Not too long ago Demolition Ranch had a piece on the 45/70 BFR. I'll bet there was a noticeable spike in sales after that, creating a bubble of demand they had to work through.
And if not by DemoRanch, then by some other market force creating demand (or business decision limiting resources such as tooling or personnel).
I'd suspect there is no change to normal test methods and procedures, just that they will get to it when they can.

Seems like a lot of anguish and anxiety when the 500 JRH is readily available in several BFR configurations for about $1000.

I follow the guy that builds the BFR's on social media. Last update I saw from him was that they had to build a special front sight to get the gun sighted in and that barrels were on the way for them.
I believe it's more of a supply issue than a building them issue.

Agreed. That's why 454 cassul is silly when you can just build a gun that handles high pressure in 45 colt and seat a bullet out a little bit more. It's the same thing afterall.
OR, we recognize that .510 is not .500, and, to some, that difference is meaningful.
