Congrats to the OP with the 480
I just picked up my 6.5” bisley today
Apr 2018 mfg per Ruger
It points so much more naturally than my super redhawk but boy the guy who ground the front sight base and trigger guard must have been cross eyed.

I have a couple of Ruger 45 colts, amswitch cyclinder FA in 45 ACP & 454 and a FA 475. I run the 475 with the acclaimed HS6 load and a MiHec 477640 HP at 394 grains and between 1150-1200. A pleasure to shoot.
I like it so much, I'm looking for a SS Bisley Vaquero base to build a 480 with a 4 5/8" octogon barrel with a plain dovetail front and micarta grips. Sort of a woods 'Duty Gun'. The FA has a 7.5 tube while the 454 has a 4.75" but the 475 has alittle more enjoyment factor. The plan isn't set in stone yet as the smiff mentioned buildingna 500L...
