In the 80's I liked the heavy underlug on the S&W 686 and the Ruger GP100. Now I wish I hadn't sold my 6" GP100 that came without the underlug. Now I just see it as extra weight I don't want to "lug" around.

Finding one without the full underlug on a gun shelf someplace is difficult.

Got to handle one of these tonight at my local gun store, I really like it a lot. I love the finish.

Just heard we have three... Management is holding them back for a Ruger Promotion in May...

I would rather have one in stainless and think I'll wait to get a range report before making up my mind. I have recently had trouble with several Ruger's and don't want any going back to the factory to fix something. The markings on the side of the barrel are not a big deal but it would look nicer on the bottom.

Looks like the front sight issue has been corrected.

There is a gap. Just not very noticeable on the blued gunz.

That report sounds very promising maybe I should look around and find out who has one in stock and look it over in person. It may just follow me home.

Stopped by my LGS today and was favorably impressed my the GP100 44 Special.
I couldn't bring it home. I'd also ordered a FA97 357 Mag. Not wanting to do the extra paperwork, it'll keep till next week.
Will put on a V-Notch rear sight blade and have some killer grips I've hoarded back. Knew the right gun would eventually come along.

I really wish they would have gone with the 1/2 Lug... I guess I am the only one who likes the 1/2 guns....
