Does that particular sight also work in the SBH Hunter?

Does that particular sight also work in the SBH Hunter? Nope. Bowen makes one for the SBH Hunter, but it is sold as a blank and would probably need to be shaped. Hunter Model Extra Height Front SightMine was shaped by David Clements Bowen does sell this one for the Redhawk that WILL fit a SBH Hunter, but the base where it sits in the barrel rib isn't as wide as the stock sight. I have a couple of these and put one on my SBH Hunter just to compare, and frankly you don't really notice that the foot is a bit narrow, plus it sells for the same price as the blank for the Hunter.

I wanted a taller front sight for my SRHs. Bowen's intent is that you shape the blade to fit your needs. I use it without any shaping.

Kensight front blade in place. PMC 180 grain JHPs, Rear sight all the way to the bottom, 5 Shots at 25 Feet. A slower heavier bullet will most likely need a taller front sight.

So I sent both of the 44 specials back last week. The 5 inch had a bent rear sight and the 3 inch had the unsightly front sight and irregular throats.
Today I received a call that the 3 inch wasn't repairable and I was asked if I wanted a new one or something else from their lineup. I asked what exactly made it unrepairable and she stated that a tech would call me tomorrow with an answer............
I'll keep you updated.

Mine had a crooked rear sight. I didn't look at it too close, so not sure if it was the blade or something else. I fixed it by installing a Bowen RC sight.

My rear sight had about .025 slop in it. I cut shims to tighten it up and its worked out ok...

So Karen with Ruger called this morning and stated that when they were replacing the barrel they felt a some binding. She seemed very concerned with the fact that I had returned two 44spl GP's. After a short conversation she said that they were going to replace the entire revolver or I could pick another model if I'd like. I elected to receive another 3 incher and she threw in a compact grip for free.

Found one month ago at my favorite FFL holders shop. Front sight was fitted properly and I was able to verify throat diameters to be correct. So long story short it now resides on my personnal layaway shelf in back. Was suprised by the trigger, its actually THE BEST OUT OF BOX have ever seen in a factory issue Rugeer DA period. Got to finish deck for wifey so can get it out and play soon
