The Kensight fits in the barrel dovetail is a nice slip fit... When I stone the width to the proper width I'm thinking I'll epoxy it in place. May bump the edges of the barrel dovetail with a little hammer too.

Axe If you don't want to bump the bbl dovetail, take and center punch some divots on the bottom (under the base) of the sight itself. That'll help tighten it up in the dovetail slot. Then you only have a modified sight base, not the bbl Works like a Champ! Pics man, pics! I'm ITCHIN to see it on already BigBore44

Hi guys- I got my GP-100 in 44 Special a few weeks ago. I got my 44 Terminator mold a few days ago. This morning both got tested. I cast about 100 Terminators out of 30:1 lead/tin with the big hollow point pin. I sized them to 0.434" and loaded some. First trial was with 8.3 gr. of Power Pistol....... the bullet expanded to 0.88", velocity was in the high 900's just under 1,000....it would be more in a longer barrel. Second trial was for the people that say a bullet won't expand under 750 or so fps..... this one was loaded to about 700 fps with WW 231...... that bullet expanded to 0.96". Good performance for a light load, isn't it. 30:1 alloy doesn't age harden like antimony/arsenic alloys do, so the results stay the same on the target even though it could be years till you shoot them. The 30:1 alloy, if you're going to run it harder than what I did, would need to be harder.... like 25:1 or 20:1 in the 44 Mag. Performance is what you make it.... and you can if you cast your own with some good information on alloys. You buy your cast bullets.... to bad since this kind of performance is probably not gonna happen at these velocities.

Not trimmed up yet.... But here it is. Yes that is a hole. Comes with a roll pin that could be used to secure it.

Axe that front sight looks great and got rid of that big green glob. Should see a finer hold sight picture now!
boolitdesigner: Any accuracy testing with that bullet and 30:1 alloy?

boolitdesigner: Any accuracy testing with that bullet and 30:1 alloy? Not yet........... that 8.3 gr. load is a might stiff when I tried it in some other short barreled 44 Specials. I will have to cut it down where it works in all of them. No worries that it will expand or not.

The Kensight is simply a slip fit. Base is a smidgen wide. FWIW The original is a NOVAK product. How can I tell? Look at the bottom..

Has anyone else done much shootin or load/bullet testing with the GP-44? I'd like to hear what loads you have tried, plan on trying and, any thoughts on performance, accuracy and/or anything else to get the best out of it... I'm still waiting for the snow to melt so I can get up to the range with mine Thanks BigBore44

I've put 600 or so rounds down range now and at 25 yards it was about 4 inches (The front sight doesn't help me either, that huge dot). I know that's not acceptable to most on this forum but, fine by me. I bought it to play with and have fun with my new obsession called the 44 special.
I'll admit the only load I have tried is 7.5 grains unique, new starline brass, and an Acme 240gr swc. They shoot much better out of my flattop 44 spl.
If I had to find something I don't care for it would be two things. The forcing cone looks odd but, I can't place why it looks so. Guess I need to measure it because I saw one member had an out of round one. Also the front sight is ill fitted and sits high so I had to bottom out the rear sight. I'm thinking of sending it back but, now that the rear sight is all the way down it shoots poa/poi at 25 yards.

As far as returning it for the F-SIGHT, I wouldn't waste your time. They are almost all like that (if not All of'em?!!). I'd just look for a new F-sight and be happy with it. Kensight has some. I handled one of these today, and they think there are a few more in back. Trigger was not as smooth and clean as I prefer, but not bad for factory.
Any more updates on these?

FWIW JB Weld looks to have a shelf life. Still gooey hours later. Picked up some fresh Lock Tite two part epoxy and we are back in the groove to stay.
