Front sight from Kensight is a little wide in the foot... A little filing and cold blue will fix that... Pictures soon...

Not too shabby!
In spite of all the negative talk about these guns, I still like mine. The DA trigger is smoother than any I've ever had from Ruger, and the SA break has just a touch up take-up (miniscule, really) and breaks about 4 pounds (guessing). I just need to get out and shoot it!

I think much of this negative talk we hear is, like the "Armchair" ballistic'ians and Top target shooters/snipers that can put bullets in the same hole At Will, Anytime, Every time, Over n Over again with Boring Regularity!?! I'm NOT Speaking of the Good folks on THIS Forum!!! I think that this little GP-44 will do Exactly what it was designed to do. When people start to make it into something it's not (44 Magnum) then we'll see & hear what a pos it is. I Do Know however, Ruger builds Hell for stout guns, period and, I expect this one will follow that tradition. News at 7 once I get mine here and give it a Thorough Exam I may even find a place on the way home from my FFL to, pullover and give it a quick feel, tickle and/or squeeze, 5 times! LOL BigBore44

As I've had one for a few weeks, I like it. I intend to take a new 44 Terminator PB mold, use the large HP pin and cast a bunch out of 30:1 lead/tin alloy then load those in front of 8 gr. of Power Pistol. I already know it will expand very well.

Picked mine up last night and,,,, I Like It! I think it's gonna be a keeper, it might even convert me to a revolver carrier for SD She's gonna need some night sights (XS hopefully) and maybe some less "tacky/sticky" grips so clothes don't cling to'em. More to follow after I have more time to look everything over better. Overall I like it and, it's in a (favorite) Great caliber to boot!!! BigBore44

Ray, you carry one of them new fangled self loaders? Its hard to beat a 44 special snub as a carry gun. Look at Buffalo bores 200gr Barnes tac-xp load. The xs set up is my all time favorite for a carry gun. My 396ng is set up with a bowen express rear and xs big dot along with a bobbed hammer, action smoothing, neutered lock, and a set of smooth eagle boot grips. Lot of oomph in a compact package. The gp should do as well just being a bit heavier.

Those BB loads are exactly what I was thinking of trying. I like/use a lot of the all copper Barnes bullets, good bullets & performance IMO... Love your NG. Always wanted one of those and a 329PD... Thanks BB44

Well lots more snow this weekend but this is a 240 grain XTP on top of 14.5 grains of 2400. SWEET! I think we have something here, and I also think that the largish throats are not as horrible as I may have thought. Still wish they were a bit smaller. Jon

Don't overlook the CCI Blazer .44 special loads. Aluminum case, but loaded with the 200 gr. Speer Gold Dot in 50 ct boxes. at a bargain price for a great SD bullet.
