Beautiful day here in North Alabama.... Let's grab our guns and go pop some caps... Maybe come back after dark with some tales about how good our gun are shooting today! Had to take a break, my K-22 was getting too hot to handle and the blister on my trigger finger was starting to bug me. Been working on my double action shooting, something I don't do enough of. Gotta pass the time somehow while Cary's got the grip frame from my favorite Single Six. Not doing too bad far as I can tell. Mostly point-shooting and trying to put them all in the same hole at 10yds. Ain't no Ed McGivern and probably never will be but I could crack a walnut with my good SA cocking thumb! Hunting season's almost here, gotta fire up the Dillon and get back on the .44's too!

I haven't posted here before today. After reading all of the prior messages I felt compelled to share my experience. I have never had a custom six gun built before. (Several rifles but the pistol game is new to me. I thoroughly as possible checked all of the gun smiths out there who build custom revolvers. After much toil and sweat I placed my money with Gary Reeder. My experience with Gary has been great. He is always prompt to respond to my phone calls or e-mails, been politely informative, and patient with my dumb questions. Also, after reading his forum for the past couple of years I have always noticed that when someone has had a problem he was alway quick to respond and always fixed or replaced the product at no charge to the customer. In my book that is good customer service. Being self employed myself, I understand customer service. Without good customer service a business won't last long. I think the fact that Gary has been around a while and has a strong business speaks for itself. Also, when dealing with the public you will NEVER completely satisfy everyone. You simply do the best you can and move on. But rest assured there will always be someone out there that knows more about your business than you do. Some of the prior post stated they didn't like the T&A guns and any of the decorative engraving. Well he does make them plain jane too. To each their own.
Also, my gun was to be finished within the past 2 weeks. Due to circumstances beyond my control, (had to move my home and office) I had to spend the money I had set aside for the gun. I sent Gary an e-mail explaining my situation. I was planning to sell a couple of my current guns to finish paying for the project. He responded that it would not be necessary sell any of my guns. He would hold up on my gun until I was ready to have it completed. How many other smith's would have done that? That also speaks a lot about the man himself. Thanks Gary.
Also, all of the prior post about Gary I find disturbing. Now with a few strokes of the key board someone can attack your reputation without justification or even proof of the accusations. I believe the above posts back and fourth are nothing more than someone else trying to make themselves feel important. Do we have the right to state a problem we have had with a product? Absolutely! But keep the personal attacks out of it. When I was a child, my parents would always tell me, if you don't have anything good to say about someone, just don't say it. I still try to live by that today. It will also keep you out of a lot of trouble. But, some people thrive on it. The bible speaks of gossip and a loose tongue. Try reading it sometime. It's something we could all stand to do. Especially me! Thanks for taking the time to read this. God Bless.

Now with a few strokes of the key board someone can attack your reputation without justification or even proof of the accusations" I hope I cost Gary lots of money the guy is a "a--hole"! need "prove" just ask him about your take off parts or question something his does to his guns like not line-boring the cylinder. Someone asked about Gary Reeder, and People posted. Some people here don't like his guns because they find them tacky, he hunts and shoots using his guns so I fill they will shoot just fine "so do production Rugers",After the way he treated me in some emails and again over the phone I just don't like the guy. O and Greg "500max" no we don't need more guys like this customizing guns we need to show guys like this we wont buy, shoot, use or support them and show support to the real gunsmiths out there!

I don't know ANY of the players in this, and I really don't care.
Why am I posting...?
Because that last picture and caption by Max is NOT funny and is in VERY BAD TASTE!
It says a lot about you Sir...you should be ashamed.

I normanlly do not get involved with posts like this. Waste of my time. I deal with bullshitters and phony's for a living, I don't like to spend my free time doing the same.
Wow just read this whole post. Max you seem like a real winner!!! The last picture you posted was very tasteful. Did you ever think that maybe someone around here may have kids with special needs? Maybe you need to just diasppear off this board as pointed out to you by others. Just a hint, most people would love to see you go. Yea everyone does PM each other.
As far as the original post I contacted Reeder years ago when I was looking for my first custom gun. Way before I knew about other smith's. I ended up hanging up. He was that rude to a potential customer. I had the money in my hand and it went to another smith. I was actually glad he was that rude off the bat. That way I did not have him start a gun and then get treated like that down the road halfway through the project where I could not back out.
Well you are the reason most of the good guys are gone. First is was Nobearsyet then you. I liked reading 2Dogs post. Now he is gone. You have nothing good to say. Looks like I will spend less time around here.

Very classy, counselor.
Don't worry, later he'll just come back and delete it like he does all his other posts. He just loves to argue with people. This from a guy who constantly needs to tell us how smart he is, quote Socrates and plagiarize President Roosevelt’s writing. Makes me glad I'm just a poor dumb ol' cop. All dat book lernin' just hurts my po head.....
It must be hell going through life with a pecker that small.

Trying to get back on track, if that is possible, & a comment on the above post w/ picture is not going to happen, enough has been said already. I, and I will admit it, am a forum jumper. I really don't see why that could be an issue, after all i don't subscribe to just ONE gun magazine either. Being an admitted forum jumper I can tell you, while I post on a few, I read many and have been with a few of them from from their inception. One thing I've noticed is, there has not been a lot of keyboard whipping of custom pistolsmiths, you know all the players. BUT, mention Gary Reeder and they all come out of the woodwork. First come the dissatisfied, then the few, my opinion, who have had, the good experiences. This is not heresy do some research and you will see for yourself. Author/hunter Ross Seyfried once made a comment in print and I can't find it off hand so can't quote him, but it went something to the fact that he approaches gunsmiths, that, not unlike a hungry coyote circling a baited trap, very cautiously. I've wanted to get a 5 shot 45 made up for quite sometime, now Reeder's prices have come down and are looking attractive. Is beauty only skin deep? I also see he's gotten off the engraving kick, although reading his forum for as long as I have am still quite apprehensive to post and ask the question, Can I get it without ANY engraving, etching, gold/silver bands, etc? For now my Clements custom Bisley 6-shot will have to do, as I'm still circling. Good day Gentlemen, OH yea you to five one ZERO! CRASH87

+1 for very poor taste.... If that doesn't do the trick I don't know what it is going to take.... That did the trick. Opinion and gun related argument is one thing.....cheap shots at the disabled is another. Problem solved. -Lee www.singleactions.com
