I've probably picked up more sixgun info here than anywhere thanks to some knowledgeable friendly folks who are willing to share their experience and craft. A great group of people to be sure.

I want to take a moment and remind members about forum etiquette. This past week saw two or three threads turn ugly. So bad in fact I locked them. This board has always been a friendly place. We're fortunate to have a wide knowledge base and plenty of guys that are new to the hobby. Opinions are fine and those opinions don't have to be universal rule. Counter-discussion is good and is welcome. But do so with respect for one another. As much as I like the internet, I do think it brings out the worst in some. This sport used to be chalked full of gentlemen (ex-military, competitive shooters, sportsman, etc). More and more we're seeing folks that live to 'internet troll' and provoke pissing matches. That won't happen here....I'll be damned if this forum goes the route of others I won't mention. So with that said, let me be clear. I won't tolerate people that bait, jab, and incite. If you do, you'll be warned once via PM (and more than a few were warned last week). If it continues you'll be banned. I'd rather have 100 knowledgeable gentlemen on this board than 10,000 bomb throwers looking for a place to argue. My shooting has been limited and also my lurking the past 20 months or so. My Wife has been thru 3 rounds of Chemo and 23 radiation treatments, Ptn scan shows Lymphoma gone and most radiation scarring gone. Her overall strength is returning, not quite to normal yet but close.One doesn't heal as fast at 73. But she is doing well...Cheers, LEJ

I want to buy a gun for my son for Christmas. He wants to do Cowboy Mounted Shooting.
Does anyone know the best gun to buy so it will pass all the rules. I want this to be a surprise, so I can't ask him too many ?
