James! That 475 looks like it expanded perfect. What section the boar was it recovered from? I'm looking forward to testing mine out of the 480. Do you know the BHN on it?

That fell out from the offside hide on a double lung shot....As far as the BHN, Glenn or Dick would know more about that.... I just shoot `em....Good luck on your hunt....

Knowing muzzle velocity and distance would be nice on some of these impacts with animals, as I would guess impact velocity has as much to do with performance as BHN.
I learned a tremendous amount of knowledge when I spoke with the MBW folks about making me a .512 530ish grain bullet for both my Max and Alaskan. Much of it mirrored what Dick mentioned in an earlier post about softer alloys.
Really liking this thread.........

Glen wanted a set handload of 13.0 grs of HS-6 to keep things as consistent as possible when he and Dick were testing the cast .475 HP pictured above... The boar taken was near 125+ lbs and the shot was in the 40 to 50 yard range... After the shot he ran a little bit and flopped over dead...Photos of me, 475 Gallagher and small boar and the off side pocket that stopped the HP.. PS- I did not clock this load....
