I like the vintage bikes. Went to Texas last weekend for the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association's Motocross National (www.ahrma.org). Did well, but took a bit of a roost Sunday from this competitior on a Maico 440 before I got around him. I think I finally got all the dirt out with this morning's shower.

Please excuse the pics of poor pics. Just had to join in on the daughter/motorcycle thing. A skinny kid with his first born and 650 Bonneville. She will be 38 on Monday. I've gained more pounds than she has years. The pic of the 750 Honda took me back a few years also. Bought this one new in 1975. A big change from the Trumpet.

Those old Bonnevilles were special bikes... There is something about the fit and finish of the european street and dirt bikes from back then... They don't hold a candle to that baby though..

The Triumph picture brings back a lot of memories. Graduated from high school in '65 and scratched up enough money to buy a brand new TR6/R. I put a set of reverse cone megaphone mufflers on it and put a bigger main jet in the AMAL carb...I was so proud I could hardly button my shirt...........

Those Cobra pipes on that VTX? I've always wanted to swap mine stock pipes for the V&H Bigshots... Have you tried a Power Commander?

Those are V&H Bigshots, also had Power Commander and Hyper Charger. The bike was an "03. I wanted to get rid of that obnoxious looking stock canister, with my job experiences I am very leary of modifications and computer tuning,So I went to the Power Commander website and picked my accessories by what maps were available from them. The pipes and intake made an unbelievable difference in power and sounded much better.

I think my 1800C is an '03 too. Traded for it about 4 years ago just about the time my eyes messed up. Haven't really ridden it enough to develop a good feel for where the rev limiter kick in.. I've been wanting a tach, power commander, and some pipes. I keep spending all the mad money on guns...

I also put a Cobra tach on that bike, not much more embarasing than smoking away from a stop and hitting the limiter. One personal experience about Cobra acessories, the tach and caliper covers were all from Cobra and the chrome peeled off of all of them.

I owned four motorcycles in the 1990s, one at a time; three Harleys, then a BMW R100R. Being a single dad prompted me to sell the BMW about 1995. Every now and then, now that my son is grown, I go into a local dealership and dream. Cameras and lenses keep eating into what could be a down payment on a bike. I reckon photography is my current addiction, keeping me broke.
