Mine's in! Sorry for the mediocre picture. My 44-40 loads fit but the cylinder mouths might be a bit tight with .428 cast bullets - perfect fit in the .44 Special cylinder.

It looks like a perfect fit with the .44 Special cylinder and cast bullets sized .430. The cylinder mouths on the .44-40 measure .427 but it's too early to know if they'll need opening up. I love how that USFA Single Action locks up. It puts my old Colt New Frontier .44 Special to shame! I've never shot a 44-40 revolver before - can't wait to get to the range! I think one of the local gunshops has several boxes of Hornady Cowboy bullets in .427 diameter just sitting on the shelf collecting dust. Just what I need!

My little local gun store, thats upstairs over the back of the grocers, has a pile of them. Various finishes and barrels lengths, though mostly short. All .45's. Seem to be a price point beyond Rugers. Roughly, how do they compare ? Do they make same/same in .44spec ? That new .44spec Vaquero has my eye.. steve b I Know this is over a year old ..But do they still have any left and if so any short bbl 45 lc...I was wanting a Omni ?something and when I went to order one they discontinued them....Thanks in advance for an answer

I will take a USFA over a Colt any day. The USFA's are better fitted and have proper bore/throat dimensions.

MajorKap; Nice looking iron. How does it handle with that grip? Grips are beautiful, by the way.

You folks have seen this one recently but new grips, a base pin and a new regulated front sight have sweetened the pot. I talked to Gary at USFA this morning and they are certainly in business!

thomasmblack; Yer right. I have had a potful of handguns over the past 50 years, and there is not anything like the way a USFA handles and feels. Especially after Turnbull works it over. Of the Colts, my favorite is the New Service 45 Colt. I had one that was like magic. Where I looked, it hit. As a young fool, I sold it to a friend. Well, the Service Ace is nice, too, and I still have that one.
