Well, at least my idea of the perfect Security Six. I’ve had this project in mind for many years now. and little by little, over the last six months I was able to bring my ideas to life. I started by removing the warning label on the left side of the barrel. I then reshaped the front of the ejector rod shroud. It was a fairly straight angle from the factory, but I always preferred the more graceful curve S&W revolvers tend to sport, so that’s what I went for. Next i ground a scallop into the recoil shield. there was some pucker factor involved lol! the edges of the top strap and the front corners of the front sight base originally came to a sharp angle. I always felt this looked bad, especially if that sharp edge happened to have any dings in it. to remedy this I beveled both the top strap and the front sight base. for the sights i added a Bowen rear, and i then made a new front sight out of antique wrought iron my dad salvaged over 30 years ago from a ranch here in the hill country. all the internal parts were cleaned up with 1200 grit sandpaper, and lastly i made the grips out of Steve’s Claro Walnut. I was 14 or so when dad handed me this Ruger and an ammo can full of 38’s. since then it’s been a true friend, and is partly to blame for my love of Sixguns. Lord willing we’ll have many more good times together.

Amazing how an ordinary gun can be made to look so classy. Beautifully done from front sight to grips.

L I K E !
If I went that far I'd have to have the cylinder black powder chamfered jus cus now that I've got one I want them all done that way. Hamilton told me how to do it, and it sounds EZ, but he only charges 75 bucks...
Also, the front sight notches look good. Are you able to make them out just blued well enough to use easily as yardage markers/estimators?

Another expression of excellent talent from an artist. Subtle details,, yet,, very smooth looking, and functional as well.
