Rey, I always carry a sling shot in my back pack, mostly I use it for flushing deer out of heavy brush but you can also retrieve ducks with some line & a treble hook after a few shots. You will miss a few times but you will get him. You have to add a sinker or small weight. I've taken 2 elk with the sling shot trick.

I cant throw like i used too and even when i could throw, you could always get a rock where it needed to go.
