Geesh Taffin, you're making my eyes water. Those are really nice revolvers. One thing about the New Frontier is that I though the front sight looked much better then the Ruger Blackhawk's.
Thanks for posting those pics.

I didn't know that the 1860 Colt had gain twist rifling, along with a few other models. Along with that gain twist rifling and special steels the revolver was made of, I'd have to say it was Colt's most advanced cap n ball revolver.

I accept that it is sacrilegious but I have never liked the NF front sight🥴. In fact, the only NF I have owned, I purchased after it had been through Jim Stroh shop and had one of his front sights installed. If I were to do another custom it would be a NF IF I could find another Stroh front sight base. I have a bisley spurred hammer and an upgraded rear sight already in hand but I decided I’m not going to buy the base gun until I get that last part.

I think the Colt New Frontier is one pretty revolver. I think it's prettier then the Ruger Blackhawk. If Colt would have played their cards right and made it from the same steel Ruger did and beefing up the areas that need it, like the cylinder for one, and included the 41 and 44 magnums they would have given Ruger a run for it's money. ...snip... What do you fellows think? The place the New Frontier falls down for me is the front contour of the top of frame. Ruger did (does) a much better job - in my view the the original Ruger flattop is cleaner, the Colt looks like I did it with a belt sander. I think this pic by Taffin illustrates what I mean: postimg.cc/jLwz6xxKIf I was building a New Frontier, I would install a New Service Target type front sight block- similar to what Uberti did.

Pacecars, buy that Bowen Colt SAA dual cylinder gun (38-40/41 Colt) and have John Powers install a set of S&W rear sights and you are close! I am waiting on a 10mm/.38 WCF to be finished up soon already

I am waiting on a 10mm/.38 WCF to be finished up soon already I have two 10mm handguns, although not revolvers. One is a long slide Glock and the other is a long slide 1911. I like them both. Being long slides and more weight they take the bite out of the 10mm.

I'll show you two pic that show the rifling of an original 1860 Colt and it indeed shows it does have gain twist. Breech Muzzle

I can't say I'm 100% in agreement with you, as I do like the Blackhawks ans Super Blackhawks. But as to the New Frontier, I do likethem. I've always sort of thought I'd like to see Colt make a copy of the Super Blackhawk. Bob Wright
