I have some 4×4s from some pallets I would like to try. No idea what kind of wood it is though.
It's very red, almost like cedar heart, with dark brown grain. Extremely dense and harder than hen's teeth. It sat outside in the weather for over a year without any warping or even the slightest trace of rot.
Once I get back in town I will post a pic. Maybe someone will recognize it and can tell me what it is.

At the moment, I'm custom grip deficient but this post surely causes an itch that may need scratching at some point :-)

This is a Single Six, but with Bisley grips. They are mesquite, by SK grips.  |

SAMBAR STAG AND IVORY Rey, great grips/guns as always. That said, I've got a few saddles and maybe even a horse or two I'd trade for that Neal Barrett book that dust jacket belongs to. Almost impossible to find, and worth a trigger finger when you do. |

Not a Bisley, English walnut....also, check out the "handgun blue print" thread. Alot of beautiful grips in there!  Awesome grips and I will look for that thread as well. |

Jwheeler331, I’m not sure how this works but if you are willing, it might be great to change the post title to custom grip gallery or something? I think you’d still get a lot of bisley grips, but there are already so many gorgeous grips that I feel like it should be a sticky. Not trying to hijack your intent it just seems to be taking on a life of its own.
