Sounds like the mail delivery here in the Alleghenies. We get our mail at the PO and the guy who works there often apologizes for the lack of mail or tells you how many pieces of mail they got on a given day. Yesterday was really a low volume day as the only thing in the mail was the weekly newspaper. Hopefully our shorter batch of the FG/RW sight blades arrives today. No John, i had to make themthis week, but they just left this morning. R

Got my 2 low profile Rears and installed them on SS #2 & $3. They are perfect with fermin's bead front sights. Fermin also sent me a proto. of his fixed rear for the flat top fixed sight SS; 6.5"bbl., and a brass ramp front. Have had to take a file to the rear and are approaching a zero at 25 yds. Also widened the sight notch a bit.
Will post details when finished and pics if someone can help me with that.
Can't speak highly enough about the service and products from RW and 2Dogs!

More/less, how long is the turnaround time from time you guys are placing an order on these sights (&/or ronnies gripframes), to time they actually ship?

I received the sights and am very impressed with the quality and workmanship and to answer a previous post, it took 24 days from order to delivery. I ordered widths and heights based on Ronnie's recommendation earlier in this thread and the sight picture is spot on based on the various barrel lengths. As far as I'm concerned, Fermin and Ronnie.....you guys nailed it! Overall installation was pretty simple however I did run into a hurdle that I don't believe has been brought up or discussed. On the first gun, the rear portion of the sight was too thick and needed a considerable amount of material removed to get the sight blade to fit and function. I had some 320 grit sandpaper handy and sanded it down until the sight fit and would move freely left to right. The second one installed perfectly without mods, which got me thinking. I decided to test my third sight on multiple different models/ages of Blackhawks, a single seven, a MK I and MK III and below are my findings. Gun 1: 1966 Blackhawk This was after the finish and metal was removed. I didn't get a before pic but see below regarding the MK I as the initial fit was similar to what's pictured. And to avoid any confusion, this gun did not start life as a flattop. Gun 2: 1968 Blackhawk Perfect Fit! Gun 3: 1963 Blackhawk Needed some light sanding to fit and function properly. Gun 4: 1994 Blackhawk Perfect fit! Gun 5: 2014 Single Seven Perfect Fit! Gun 6: 2016 Blackhawk Perfect Fit! Gun 7: 2007 MK III Tight fit and would need minor adjustment to sight to be fully functional Gun 8: 1969 MK 1 As mentioned above, this is how gun 1 started. Based on what I have on hand it appears that the sights from the mid '60s and possibly earlier might need the most mods plus the MK series pistols. I know the initial design wasn't necessarily intended for the latter application but I'm definitely going to get a low profile sight and run one on my MK III. Also, somewhere in this thread was a question about the set screw marring the sight base. It's steel vs aluminum so if you tighten it with any force it will leave a mark. I tightened all mine but one could probably get away without tightening the screw on some applications. On the big boomers I'd definitely tighten them. Again, thank you guys for churning out a quality product. Time to order a pile more! -Kevin

I would like to add my comments to this thread!? I have received 4 of the sight blades so far! I will definitely get several more in the future. All of my Rugers will eventually have this modification! Ronnie has been very amazing to deal with and has provided the type of customer service that we all wish other companies would provide!! I am so impressed by the sight modifications that I will eventually be replacing the several Bowen Rough Country rear sights that I have now. Bob Attachments:

Just received the flattop version of this sight blade, which is now paired up with the 2dogs mirrored front sight, and it's another match made in heaven, it's amazing how easy it is to sight in a Ruger revolver now, since I can actually see the sights now, thank you gentlemen, for all that you do, please don't stop, guys like me need all the help we can get

So far I've tried a standard height on two GP100s . A 2 1/2 inch 357 and a 5 inch 357 . Both guns shoot too high , like 6 to 8 inches high at 25 yards with 180 grain bullets. Even 125s are still high. My fault for ordering a standard, I had not shot the 5 inch in a while and forgot the factory rear sight was already bottomed out. Right now I'm deciding on a lower rear or a new dawson front. Does anyone have a picture of the RW2D low profile ( .340 ) sight next to a .390 standard ?

The Ruger elevation screw has 16-clicks per revolution. * Indicate cartridge and bullet weight. David Bradshaw

For those not familiar, where exactly does one measure to get the sight height?
