OK Im looking here at a Nw model FT 44 special, and an OM FT 44 mag. They look the same, both micro sights. The only exception is visually, the windage screw is smaller on the OM FT, Ive not taken them apart and put any measuring devices on them, but it looks to me if, RW 2 Dogs Flat Top Rear Sight Number 1-3, in this case, the 2 revolvers in front of me, they would also fit the OM without any variation, unless the screw size is pertinent? I am anxious to try the #11 on my converted single six with 2 dogs bead front. crash86 +1 It is a smidge different. I’m just about ready to order but have a question regarding the flat top fitment that’s still confusing me. My flat top OM SBH and NM 50th Anniversary both have a squared base vs the rounded base shown on the Lipsey’s gun on page 1. The OM SBH is also thicker from the blade slot to the rear of the sight, see attached pic. Is it safe to assume that the inserts won’t fit these guns? imgur.com/a/MyvCNCF

It may be the same as New model standard but I'm not sure.

First time I’ve ever spoken with him and he’s certainly a wealth of knowledge and a joy to speak with.

WAS OUT AT THE RANGE ON THE RIO GRANDE THIS MORNING SHOOTING A 5" BLUED S&W MODEL 27-2 (BLACK FRONT AND REAR SIGHTS) AND A 3.5" NICKELED S&W MODEL 27-2 (NICKELED FS, BLACK RS). BRIGHT, CLOUDLESS, SUNNY AND WINDY, WAS HARD TO SHOOT WITH LOTS OF GLARE ON THE FRONT AND REAR SIGHTS. FINISHED UP THE RANGE SESSION WITH THE 5.5" SINGLE SIX WITH A 2 DOGS FS AND A RW 2 DOGS RS, WHAT A DIFFERNCE! NO GLARE, EASY TO AIM AND HIT. IF YOU THINK YOU DON'T NEED A RW 2 DOGS RS THINK AGAIN.

Ordered two #2s last Sunday, arrived Saturday. Just installed one on a 5.5 Bisley 45 Colt.
Exquisite craftsmanship, fast service, and most importantly, an outstanding sight picture, vastly improved over the factory blade.
Hope to shoot it soon.
Thank you very much, gentlemen. I hope you can keep up with the orders! 😉

Ok Guys. Heres the skinny on the new model flat tops. Anyone on here with better info on what happened here, please check this out and if you can please correct me because this is just hearsay and not the finall word. But it does make sense. The first New Model Flat tops were made in Arizona and had a rendition of the old model flat top sight. My understanding is that it was around 2000 revolvers were manufactured here but the Man from Ruger said he was just estimating. Due to cowboy action and popular demand, it was decided to have micro make the back of the rear sight base round to look more like the Blackhawk standard to help with the glare. It and they were installed from here on out in connecticut. As i stated earlier, this is not the word of GOD, but it makes sense once you look at what is coming on what serial numbers. So here we go. There will be 2 different Flat top sights and are now available but we will have to add it and the description to the Web Site. The 2 variants are as followes. Notice the front sight has a square back like the old Model. And the newer sight at the rear is rounded on the back upper corner. This is the first variant. And the site blade for it. It is designated The FT-S ( flat top square) THe next one is the newer version which is rounded. It is called the FT-R ( Flat top Round) And its Blade replacement. If you need a flat top version please let us know which one you have and we can getcha fixed up the first time. The old Models are a bit different but available if you need one. Happy Trails and Hot Lead Fellers. R

Does the white line on the square white outline sight “run off” the top edge of the blade? Hard to tell in the pics.
