Modern gun started for me today. Had a pretty rough start though. I elbowed the table beside the bed and injured the tendons in my left arm. My arm was on fire and my fingers tingled. After some prayer, some ibuprophen, some heat, and working it out, it started easing up and I was able to make it afield a while. It started to rain after a bit, and according to the weather map it looked like it was going to get worse so I gave it up. I should have stuck it out a bit, as it didn't get worse for another couple hours. I did get to the woodshop and work though, so all was not lost.
Due to it's weight, I couldn't carry the rifle in my left hand because of the injury but could still hold it up without undue pain. It is still hurting, but feels better and better as time passes.
My first time hunting with my rifle won't be forgotten anytime soon.

To comply with the 10 round magazine limit imposed upon me by the state of Kentucky, I took the magazine tube off the rifle, removed the end cap, and placed 2 empty 44 Magnum cases between the spring and end cap. I checked it, and the magazine will only hold 10 rounds now.

Got a few more hours in yesterday. My arm is much better, praise God! I was anointed with oil and prayed for at church Sunday. Able to get a few hours in yesterday evening. I didn't spot any deer, but there was great horned owl pair hooting back and forth, and one was very close to me. One of the most beautiful sounds there is.

I really want to see you take an animal with that rifle! Good luck!
