I am going to south africa for the 4th time. I am going to take 3 guns. I can't decide which one to leave at home. My choices are: BFR 500 JRH RPM/XL 356 Winchester T/C Encore 378 GNR T/C Encore 50 Alaskan WHAT BARREL LENGTH IS YOUR 500 JRH? Apparently BFR had South Africa in mind for all those purchasing 7.5" barreled guns as upon delivery you will learn it is 8"+

The best way to get the latest laws for any countries that you are going to hunt is to contact their embassy. They will provide you with all the current laws and regulations as well as any necessary paperwork. I would still recommend a reputable service just to ease entry, but knowing the rules yourself and insuring that all the paperwork is done correctly only makes your life easier.
They will also regulate how much ammo you can take and you should really be sure the head stamps match the chamberings. It used to be a real bitch convincing the customs guy that it really is a 475 Linebaugh round when the head stamps said 45-70.
