A SW 69 4 inch caught my eye at the Lgs today. Think they were asking $875 or maybe $975 can't remember ha ha . Had been searching for a 4 inch Redhawk and come across this too. Gonna have to find that thread and give it a good read.

Wish I'd have kept the 4 inch I had.

I like mine, Not sure if I will keep it, but you never know. I put a much taller front sight on it, If you shoot heavy loads through it, thats a must. And I have not shot it since I swapped the sight. I will soon. It sure make a good carry lot's and shoot little revolver. And of course if you shoot skeeter type loads , it is much ,more fun to shoot. But for 44 mag, I like my Rugers. I only have 3 , but with 6 stiff rounds in My 4 5/8ths SBH, I shoot better than I do with the 69. And If I were to need real Power, my 5,5 inch Redhawk , with the hot Buffalo bore ammo, would get the Nod every time. If that load won't kill any animal in the forest, I don't want to go there !...tj

I've had a Smith 69 2.75" for about a year now. Great lightweight, easily carried revolver. While the gun handles 44 mag fine I much prefer 44 Special in it. My carry load for this 69 is the 200 grain Speer Gold Dot ammo.
I like mine enough I'd like a second cause a NY reload is always faster. Lol

I've had a 4a' 69 since late 2014- early 2015. It is my favorite 44. An L frame 44 Mag cannot be appreciated until packed, shot and handled. At first blush I thought the boys at Smith had gone round the bend, but not once I laid my hands on one. I liked the 4" so well I bought a 2.75". Shoot a 210grs load pushing 1100fps, and life is very good. It's the most accurate 44 I have or now own.

No plans to let go of my 2.75” Model 69. It’s a great shooter.
It would take something pretty special to beat me out of it.

Yep, I'm with you guys. I bought the first 4.2" M69 I laid hands on.
Throats were too tight at .428". But, Clements fixed that to .4305".
Hard to imagine a better Trail Gun.
In all honesty, mine sees Cast GT HP 220s over Unique. Will do all I can ask in the woods...

I bought a 4.25” when they first hit the market. Shortly after buying it I was offered an extremely well cared for 4” pre Model 18 in an even trade. Since I had a Model 329, I figured I wasn’t really giving up much and I’ve been very happy with that trade.
When the 2.75” version on the Model 69 hit the market, I had to have one. It has become a favorite carry gun when stuffed with 240gr cast bullets powered by Unique. Comfortable to carry, packs a punch and is manageable to shoot. What more could a guy ask for?

I have two of the 2.75 inch and two of the 4.2 inch M69's. I shoot the 4.2 inch seldom and concentrate on the 2.75 inch guns. The M69 has become my favorite revolver. I have other 44 Mag Smiths and Rugers. Still, the M69 is my most favorite.

I have the 2.75" only because I waited a bit too long to get the 4" model 69 when I had the chance. The 4" felt perfectly balanced.
Some years ago I had the Smith Mountain Guns in 44 mag and 45 Colt and foolishly parted ways with both... at least for other firearms. This model 69 I have is a darn good lightweight carry gun and I don't see me parting ways with it. I do like the idea of having 2 though.

I have a 4.25" M69. Bought it to satisfy my itch for a shorter (than my 7.5" SBH) but I never warmed up to the S&W, my first. I guess I am a Ruger kind of guy. I have put a few cast bullets down the barrel, but nothing I tried gave me the results I was looking for. Never tried jackets in it, and I moved on. It needs a new home.
