If he'd do it, I would send an extra 9mm cylinder to him to try it. But already have some Maxis

So I called Reeder. Had a very pleasant conversation. I know he gets mixed reviews and I personally don't like his art work on his guns. Anyway he took his time and explained the cartridge and was very helpful. You do have to send in the whole gun. He said with his current work load just a rechamber on the gun he could have it in and out in 3-4 weeks.

SENDING THE WHOLE GUN vs JUST MAILING IN THE CYLINDER IS MORE THAN ENUFF TO TAKE THAT PROJECT OFF MY LIST.

I believe he wants to test fire and cycle the revolver to make sure it’s running right. Just think if someone picked up an out of time cylinder to get converted, he rechambered it, and problems ensued…….

Yes he said he wanted the gun to make sure it was headspaced correctly and functioned right. Would include test firing.

I wonder if Reeder or Freedom would make a cylinder for a FA 353?

Since it uses a .41 case, wouldn't that mess up the extractor for use as a .357 mag? I think we are all talking about single action Blackhawk rechambers

I doubt Reeder will make a FA Cylinder. I'm sure he'll rechamber an FA83 357 Magnum Cylinder to 356 GNR...

THIS conversion has me thinking. Having a spare cylinder made for my 353 would be pretty pricey and modding the original cylinder would destroy the uniqueness of it, but I do have that spare Blackhawk cylinder from my "Pinto" project Hmmm... I mean who cares (in 2023) if a 2013 Blackhawk is modded? :-) Maybe in 30 or more years they'll yell "WHAT??? that dolt removed the aluminum grip frame for a Dragoon and put on all that SS stuff? Jeez, I'll give him $50 for it (I hope it has the original plastic box) now THAT's worth a fortune!!! :-)

I’m pretty sure Gary has/will make a cylinder for any model.

If Gary doesn’t make new cylinders for FA guns, have another cylinder made by FA and then have Reeder cut the new one for 356 gnr.
I have a 357 bisley that would be a good candidate for this conversion as I never shoot it. (NOT FOR SALE) And maybe a 10” barrel. But I have been thinking about his 455 gnr too!
